This is the exact situation many feared when Heffs was bombed out to Sheffield Wednesday - bare bones up front now...tomorrows line up should make interesting reading.

I guess we have to take a risk. The wage bill is already £7 million plus.

Theres two choices, a big squad not good enough, or a thin squad good enough and dipping into the emergency loan if things go wrong.

Anyway, I know which is the best scenario.

Heffernan was late to training often and sometimes never even bothered turning up then spat his dummy out when he was sat on the bench in his final season,he and sod had a big bust up over it and heffs was told 6 month before the season ended he would not be getting a new contract. Heffernan was angry by all accounts and fell out with a few players who i wont name as its unfair, most of whom are still here.  (he was not liked in the dressing room)

Heffs was fined by the club a few times.

If you dont belive me then dont but i expect gartom will back me up on this 1 as i understand he has regular contact with Jr who im sure is aware of what happened.

We were right to get rid when we did

Oh and its waides back that is the problem.   :(

OK I don't want to get caught up on petty disputes and I dont think Heffernan is the answer to our problems up front but I'm not convinced with this - for one thing you frequently posted this about Heffernan not turning up to training from a 'source' on the Yorkshire boards

More importants the bit about him not being liked - sorry but I saw him with Billy, Copps etc both at the end of season awards and at the cricket match after he'd gone to the Owls, he was that disliked he gave up his own time to watch them play

Heffernan is part of Rovers past - why not leave it there?

So it's unfair to name the players who he had a bust up with, but it's fair to come out with the rest of the claims you've made about Heffs. Errrrm ok then!

Also, just after signing for Wednesday, Alan Irvine said on Radio Sheffield that he had spoken to Sean O'Driscoll who had highly recommended Heffernan. Why would he do that if he didn't train and had a poor attitude?

Absolute rubbish, Heffernan left because he was too good not to get games, but he wasn't getting them here, so his departure at the end of his contract was a natural process. There is nothing more to read into it than that. He wasn't \"bombed out to Sheffield Wednesday\" either, he decided to join them (ahead of other clubs) under freedom of contract. My disappointment is that it's not working out for him there yet, I'd like to see him playing games and scoring goals for another club in recognition of his efforts and contribution while he was here. We should respect the former players that have done well for us, there is no place for ridiculous and insulting rumours like the one in this thread.

Oh bloody hell, another \"Heffernan Debate\" thread - and this one was supposed to be about Waide.

I don't get this debate about Heffs. As we can see by the way he's the first name on the team sheet at Wednesday and is banging goals in left, right and centre, really setting the world alight in League One, he should never have left and we should be picking him every week.  ;)

Let it go! He's gone and he ain't coming back. Thanks Paul, good luck.

Harsh but true, however Heffs did play a large part in our success and imo should be left alone by scrotes such as 'george friend', btw I would never trust you as a friend as you have the biggest gob going whether or not there is an ounce of truth in your accusations now do one.

I will be delighted to.

I ain't knocking the lad, it just seems that he wasn't born lucky - one thing after another keeping him from playing.  When he first arrived I couldn't wait for him to get started, but he seems to be a bit brittle.

I hope he shoves my words down my throat though...!!!!!

Pointless thread. Fairhurst is named on the bench for Southend.

george-friend what an idiot you are.  Whether it's true or not doesn't matter anymore that's for the management to sort out in any case and not something that if you were told should have been put in the public domain.  I doubt it is true given your fail in the Waide Fairhurst department.
