Line up for Saturday
« on November 04, 2010, 07:02:00 pm by DonnyBazR0ver »
Crikey. Who'd be a manager ?

Healy in, Woods out, Thomas and Chambers fit, Shiels in good goal scoring form, who do we pick ?

Ideally for me

Sulli
Dumbuya   Thomas   JOC  Chambers

Stock

Coppinger Oster  Shiels

Hayter

Healy

Agree with most of that except I would give Muzzy a rest till Tues , put JOC back on the right to stop the crosses play Martis in centre back with Thomas and leave Mills at left back other than that the rest is OK

I'd like to see Mills start again, you don't take out a player who's on good form. Chambers should be starting on the bench anyway as he has only just got back

10/10 DonnyEl.  Thank SoD somebody got it right in the end. Now just look at that, what a lineup to behold.  Crikey, getting a swelling going here.  :silly:

I think we are forgetting a certain Mr Wilson, not my favourite player, but this could be SO'Ds chance to bring him back in instead of Shiels if Woods is out. It would really be a bit gung-ho on SO'Ds part if he played Shiels as well as Hayter and Healy don't you think?
I also think that Mussy may well find himself on the bench with Thomas coming in and assuming Martis is fit, JO'C moving to right back. Mussy has done well but I think we are looking at an eventual back four of JO'C Martis Thomas and Chambers - when Joseph returns to Southampton. I think that Mussy has done really well but he is far from the finished article defensively and it would be nice to think we could keep Mills but I personally can't see that happening.

It depends how highly SOD rates Millwall. They have kicked some big club arse thus far and have a very hard working team with a decent striker.

If Woods is out, then it causes us a bit of an issue for me. Regardless of the debate over Woods, what he does give us is coverage of all the pitch.

I'd be apprehensive to play Shiels up with Copps, Oster, Hayter and Healy. That would only leave Stock as a player who is likely to be back and help defend. Unless, he also holds Oster back and he ball plays/attacks from the back (ala his excellent form 2nd half of last season).

The Oster role is one option, the other being another holding player in Wilson (is SG still out?)

It seems we are going to have little room in the middle tomorrow, so we also need a plan b of the long ball down the channel. We may have Hayts, Copps and Healy up front for long periods, with Oster, Stock, Wilson holding the fort
