Ticket Sales
« on December 13, 2010, 12:01:37 pm by MrFrost »
Only 6800 sold for Friday night. With 1000 from Boro. Should we be worried at that? Bearing in mind it is a Cat C game.

Interestlingly, Scunny have sold a massive 11 tickets for their visit.

Friday night was always going to be a disaster attendance wise, it`s mad Friday, Boro wo n`t fetch many more than what they`ve sold already, and now the uncertainty over the weather, it really was a stupid thing to do to change it to a Friday night!

I can see the logic of making it a Friday night game as the Saturday is the busiest shopping day of the year so we could lose floating fans as they need to pick up pressies in town. I wouldn't have thought mad Friday will be quite as mad this year either with Christmas day not being til the following Saturday. Many businesses will be open til Christmas eve so that will be the biggest drinking day. Sometimes you're damned if you do change the fixture but equally damned if you don't. Of course, a 5-1 hiding at Leicester will put a few off but I always look forward to games following a heavy defeat as we often bounce back with a vintage performance.

I would imagine lots are waiting on the weather and if the game is on there will be a good few ticket sales during Friday and on the night.

The uncertainty over the weather will be putting a lot off, plus the lack of reassuring updates on whether the game has a good chance of going ahead is not helping sales

It's another example of us being done over, in terms of the fixture list though.

Whether it's Friday or Saturday, it doesn't matter, that last attendance pre-Christmas is always down.
However why should we suffer that, as well as the opening/closing and boxing day games away?
Some of the days our fixtures have dropped on are a joke.
The FL need to look at this for next season and even some of these dates up.

Damned if they do and it ends up off (as has happened before), damned if they don't and it's on.  I'm unsure if it'll be on, it's much colder but how will that effect ground temperature and the covers etc?  I guess nobody can know until tomorrow.  With it being tomorrow night there's a good chance it'll be on judging by the forecast.  Under covers I'd be surprised if the frost tonight is hard enough given that the air is quite dry.  Saturday's forecast is shite and it'd definately have been off.  Wait and see is about right really.

Went to the pub at 5-30pm tonight and the car had frozen shut!
Just took the dog out and it is frozen solid, we had about 1/2 to 1\" of snow this afternoon and it si solid. Don't know what you had in Donny but if it's as cold there as it is here there is no chance the game will be on. Anyone know what time the pitch inspection will be tomorrow? I have to set off at about 5.30pm to get there and get parked up hope it won't turn out to be a wasted journey.

75 miles away in lincs  and it's dropped from plus 7 to minus 4 in just a couple of hours. The wet roads are now like glass. Daytime temp tomorrow not expected to get above zero. I fear the worst. 6 of us planning on coming too
