Always a good, fair ref and he merits massive respect for battling back to fitness and carrying on his refereeing career. As above, I hope he gets a warm reception and enjoys officiating in a Rovers triumph!

I think Halsey is the best ref going tbh. He always seems to ref Rovers games fairly, and isn't one of those whistle happy refs who don't let the game flow.

Good to see him back.

At last, we get a ref with common sense and good judgement.

It might seem sad to have favourite referees, but him and Webb are my favourite English refs. I hope it doesn't come to a situation where he's getting any abuse, as I'd like for him to have a good welcome back to football.

You may be joking, but after what JR had to say about the ref after the Leicester game, he may well have influenced things - ALLEGEDLY!

Halsey is, in my opinion, an excellent referee. I look forward to seeing him on the 28th. Good luck to him.

Did Halsey ref the very first game at the KM or am I mistaken?

no you are not mistaken you are Wokingviking !

Seriously though you were right it was MH on the very first game. I seem to think we do rather well when he refs and also whenever I see Bryn Law doing the Sky bit I always have a good feeling !

Both of them seem to have a good strike rate as it were !

I have heard songs for refs before BUT not any ones in favour !

Your suggestion is one which would be great to hear ... battling the odds like he has is something to wonder at

Wins in our next 2 home games could also suddenly increase the number of available managerial positions as well.

2 more double-edged swords awaiting!!

I'd love to hear that at the game against Ipswich. It's a shame that it won't happen, but it'd be really nice and a great gesture to a great man and great official
