\"\"Sharp is a proven Championship scorer and about to reach the peak of his career.
A summer bid of around £1.5million would certainly tempt Doncaster and give manager Sean O’Driscoll some cash in which to increase his squad.\"\"

That's an awful long way for Billy to commute from his favourite part of the world.

Now this is all speculation/paper talk but I guess the majority of Championship managers would be in the market for a goal scorer like Billy.  The operative word is \"like\", doesnt mean they will get him.  Rovers would \"like\" Messi etc.

There are a few things to consider re possible sale of Billy;

1.  What division we are in 2011-12.

If we get relegated it weakens our stance.  However, if we are still in the same division will BS fancy a move to another middling Championship side?

2.  Potential suitors

What if a better team than Ipswich, who have done bugger all for years, come in for BS.

3.  Money

We would certainly want greater than £1.5million.  Double that and we may think about it.

4.  Rovers

Would rovers want to sell?

5.  Billy

Would BS want to move?  Hes settled in Sheffield with his Mrs.  After his nightmare stint at the blades he has found himself and his form at Donny.  Is that a lesson learned for him, that it is important that you enjoy where you work?

Lots of ifs and buts.  No doubt there will be plenty of speculation.

It was reported they value Connor Whickham ( 17 years old) at ¨£24 million... so Billy Sharp at 30% say of that price would be a snip!

Another factor to consider, is there a clause in his contract stating that if a club offer x amount then we have to let Billy decide if he wants to go? The question then is how much is x?

Billy had the opportunity to move to a 'bigger' club last summer but opted for us. If it wasn't for our injury crisis I'd say that we would probably be above Ipswich in the table anyway. I genuinely think Billy loves our club, you can see that when he scores. I think that he will at least play out his contract. Unless Ipswich offer big money, I can't see it. I hope not anyway, if we lost Billy I doubt we would find a striker of his quality in the near future.

Dont mean to sound negative but wish we could have got him on a 4 or 5 year deal. Were nearly 1 of his years down, another season and its decision time as personally I cannot see him here after his 3 years (hope he is though).

Definatly no less than 3m if he is to go.
