You start to feel sorry for him after a while. He's so far out of his depth, it's painful to watch. On the TV today:Clegg: \"We're going to stop this disgraceful situation where rich kids are fast-tracked into top jobs by getting internships with leading companies or political parties. It's not fair on the rest of the population who don't have the links.\"Interviewer: \"But you yourself got an internship with a multinational bank after you finished your A-levels, through your dad's business contacts. Are you saying that YOU had an unfair advantage and as a result got on in life further than your basic qualities should have allowed?\"Clegg: \"Errr...with respect, that's not the question...\"Interviewer: \"And just two weeks ago, your Tory partners had a fundraising bash at which highly valued student internships were auctioned off to City fat cats for their kids. Are you saying that was wrong.\"Clegg: \"I can't comment on that. But anyway, we are going to do far more for social mobility than Labour did. Labour poured money into nursery education for poorer people but it hasn't improved social mobility.\"Interviewer: \"Hang on. Labour only came to power 14 years ago. So even the oldest children that they helped by this approach will only be 17-18 now. So how on earth can you say that they haven't improved their life chances - they have probably not even left school yet, never mind gone to university or started a career.\"Clegg: \"Yes. Yes...errr....yes, that's a fair point but it looks like it won't have helped...\"etc, etc, etc.If the useless t**t wasn't keeping the Eton mob in power, I'd almost feel a bit of sympathy for him...
