On the way to the charity match the other night, I was thinking to myself about our recent past.

Then Richardson popped into my head. I was wondering, what would have happened if he hadn't burned down the stand? Would we have been blessed with JR had that not happened? I was discussing this in the pub the other night, and it may have been a bit of a blessing in disguise that we had that t**t for a while, even though it seemed quite the opposite back then.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened had not Halifax but a team with a non-league standard ground won the conference that year.

Would Richardson have still sold to JR that summer or had another go at relegating us? Would JR and the Snods have been able to keep us up in Div 3 like they did in the conference?

I just hate to think where we'd be now if it wasn't for John Ryan. We may not have even been in existence now if not for him.
