For what its worth here is my opinion from last nights trialists.

Bouhenna- composed, willing to take the ball, not really tested. Want to see again

Deeney- pacy, likes to overlap, defended well. Want to see again.

Dyer- busy little player, good link up play, hit post. Want to see again

Dixon- carrying a bit of weight, looked a bit lost, powerful shot. Jury's still out

Trotman- not as bad as people made out, strong header of ball. Want to see again

Tother centre half- No idea who he was, looked young, not the biggest, no opinion.

McDonald- strong in tackle, decent size. Want to see again.

Summerfield- looked lost, gave away possession easily. Don't pursue.

Devaney- not impressed despite the goal, too slow. Don't pursue.

Vine- Strong, looked for the ball, linked up play. Want to see again.

And our new players:

Spurr and Bennett. Neither particluarly impressed me. Bennett would benefit from a better surface, Spurr needs to beef up a bit or he may get bullied by some of the bigger squads in the Championship.

Copps was excellent and George looked dominant at the back and very strong.

If speed is key I think I'd take Bouhenna and Vine now to avoid them being snaffled by somewhere else, Bouhenna didn't appear to speak brilliant English so I guess this could be an issue.

Have you considered hiring yourself out to that clinic in Switzerland? Just in case anyone gets second thoughts at end.

Why, just because I won't knock one out over a second rate performance at Armthorpe. I mean come on, is SO'D really going to say: \"You played well at Armthorpe Welfare on Thursday, here's a great big contract on the basis of that one game.\"

Get a grip.

Indeed.

A brief scan over the posts reveals no-one seemingly 'knocking one out' or demanding the club dish out contracts on the spot, - people were commenting on the game and the players in that context: they'd have difficulty doing anything else.
It may have seemed that way from your perspective, but to be fair you do come across has a 'glass half empty and full of anthrax and broken needles' kind of person, so it's understandable where you come from on that one.

Ah, this must be the guy I thought was Naylor.  I was down the end the Rovers were attacking in the second half, and couldnt quite make out who it was.  The old eyes arent what they once were.

Must have been somewhere near me then Rob and suffering from the same age - induced problem.

I came away from the game thinking that Danny Shittu played the second half but apparently not.

It also wasn't until about an hour after the game that I found out that Naylor had played.

Can't even claim the sun was in my eyes!

I left the ground not really knowing who the triallists were and I am still not sure!  Can anyone list, with certainty who the 11 players were in each half. Ta.

Thanks.  Wasn't on when I looked earlier.  Didnt bother again as I thought they would just refer to them as triallists without acually naming them. Who is the 'oscar' who played in the first half?

\"Oscar\" in the first half was Alex Dyer. \"Trialist\" in second half was Oscar Radford.

Seems DROS weren't sure either!

No, pic 3 is from Dessie Bennett's fundraiser ex-Rovers v Fans game.  That guy is just a fan.

Actually, has been pointed out somewhere else that it is Lee Turnbull.

My theory now is that he ate Chris Black.
