Can somebody explain to me why it is that those who perpetually pedal negative views always dress them up as 'realism'?

Just a question.

Therefore are you telling me that we did not need or haven't  needed a loanee striker of Billys calibre or a better goal keeper. Or do you like to blame Sean all the time when we don't win. The chances we have made in all our games this season tells me that a better striker would have converted more and the sloppy goals we have conceded  would have been saved by a better keeper. That's realism in my eyes not negativity it's like the way we play.

I'm not telling you any of those things steve, it would be a tough call to try and argue against either the striker or keeper points you make.  My question really was on the line, nothing else in it.  Just making the point that it seems only those pedaling negativity who try to present their views as the only ones which represent reality, which is bollox quite frankly.  Everybody who subscribes to a view believes theirs to be reality don't they?  Who (with the possible exception of benaldo) would offer an opinion and qualify it by claiming they're away with the fairies?

Unfortunately however anyone who doesn't share your absolute positivity and colour blindness when it comes to anything concerned with DRFC in your mind they are negative.

Of course bennyboy, you're a rare one indeed on here who doesn't take himself too seriously.  I find I can agree with 50% of the views you offer, and for a '(rose tinted) glass half full', 'SOD worshipping' 'happy clapper', that's saying something.  And your percentage would increase markedly if you could learn to love our Sam.

Jury's still out on our prospects for me. I'm not massively worried about the downward momentum per se - if there's one constant with o'Driscoll, it's the manic changes in form, so we could suddenly go on a run at any time.

However, losing points is losing points. The longer it goes on, the harder it gets to pull ourselves to safety.

You need 50-52 points to have a good chance of being safe. IF we lose the next two, we'll need to get 50-ish points from the last 39 matches - pretty much W-L-D form every three matches from now till May. A tall order in a division this strong, even if we do get our full squad back.

I'd say survival is 50-50. If we get everyone back safe and well and firing, we ought to be OK. We won't always have matches as tough as these first 7 and our first choice squad is not relegation fodder in general.

I have to say, I'm astounded that we're now going into the next three months without a stronger keeper. We've kept 2 clean sheets in the last 24 league games and for all Woods's promise, sooner or later you've got to get tougher and better than this. If we carry on conceding a goal from every other shot on target, we have not a hope in hell of staying up.

Reading are hardly on fire at the mo!

And we were winning there 3-1 without Billy last season are were robbed by a homer ref. Plus look at the players they've lost.

I expect us to win.

As a footy fan I believe that it is 11v11 on the day and I just happen to support the best team in the world. We can beat anyone. As a rationale human being I know some games are going to be a lot harder to win and some we should win easily. But fortunately football isn't rational.

I really don't hold with this attitude that we will lose to these big-spending or promotion-chasing  teams. If we think that when we love the club we ant exactly moan if the players think the same.

I want to win and I expect to win. Let's communicate that to the players with much cheering and noise. If they look like they got the message and worked their socks off then I'll go home happy - whatever i feel about the result...

I,m sorry but last year we did nt lose at reading because of a homer referee,we lost at Reading because of our tactical geniuses substitutions,I was at Reading when Oster was absolutely running the game we were on top completely when up steps o,dismall and takes him off along with someone else who i cant remember, oster stood on the pitch with his arms out like he could nt beleive it.It was that obvious it was another bad substitution Reading fans outside the ground were asking why he took oster off.I also remember Sheff u winning easily till he took billy off.

If Stock is genuinely match fit and firing I think our chances are reasonable of winning both games.

We need Milan for the rest of the season. Thinking of a starting 11 with sub options for variety and extra energy, Milan, Mason, Copps, Bennett, and then Billy, Hayts and possibly Chris Brown as one of the sub options, it gives us probably the most exciting attack this club has ever seen. I'm sure a few clubs will get mullered by us.
