See to recall he plays left back, although known for getting forward and getting caught neglecting his defensive duties. Good player and of the two I'd give this fella a chance.

Would you want him to replace George in the team ?? (Unless George reverts back to centre half of course)

Like I said elsewhere, just seems to me like an expensive Muzzy. Nowhere near as good as he was, for me.

As for replacing George, maybe we're pushing Jimmy out to LB? But I suppose you can never have enough cover, especially with good PL experience.

Chimbonda Friend Naylor O'Connor

Sorted.

I can just see it now....

A smoke filled room in Monaco. McKay tells the Rovers board that if they get rid of Sean he can arrange for Saunders and some of his stable to come to the club to get us out of a hole...

It's like a 40's film noir. :)

Rather worryingly, you may not be wide of the mark there!;)

Only a thousand miles or so off the mark, he lives in Doncaster.

Hey Martin. Are you going to ask the club to refund all that money you raised in that shameful little player appeal? Come on, do the decent thing.

What exactly was shameful about it Stu?  JR asked for the VSC to help raise some funds for a player, which we obliged with the generosity of the fine users of this board.  SOD signed Lalkovic on loan.

Not sure which part you think is shameful there.

I have to say I contributed because I feared there was a genuine financial emergency at the club- due to one of the directors withdrawing funding and the playing budget being spent. It now emerges that there was money available all along- just not for SO'D to spend. I don't want my money back, but in the words of The Who \"we won't be fooled again.\"

Thanks for actually acknowledging the issue Rob. Good on yer.

Read what the Red Baron has written. Sums the situation up well. I'm sure the appeal was started in good faith but events have transpired that leave a nasty taste in the mouth. If the club offered people their money back it would be an excellent bit of PR. I think what I'd like to see is a bit of transparency from the club. There's too many mixed messages coming out. How much influence has McKay now got over the club? Rovers have changed. I believe the fans deserve a proper explanation.

for me - sign him up. Keep martis and naylor in the middle, friend on the left, chimbonda on the right. Exciting times after last night's second half performance. I quite enjoyed the 4-2-4 formation. We should do that more often lol

I'd rather ship Naylor out as he's slower then my dead gran and has the turning circle of the QE2 and have Chimbonda at left back and george back in the middle, for me the back 4 would be:

JoC Martis Friend Chimbonda

Chimbonda Naylor  Martis Friend.

JOC isn't good enough for the championship. Just my opinion of course ;-)

JOC proved that he is a competent Championship player in our first season here. He's done well since this season since he came back from injury.

I'd go:

O'connor Naylor Friend Chimbonda

Actually, I thought last night we saw glimpses of the old O'Connor in the second half, with his overlapping runs past Copps.

Long may that continue.

I think you are right, Gaz.  It is probably too early for a statement, the dust is far from settling, and JR has had to take one hit already in the past week.

Sit tight lads and lasses, I'm sure we will get the answers we are all looking for soon.

On Stu's point, I shall make sure that question is put to JR.
