I see no point in this whatsoever, why not just wait till the end of the season as its not as if clubs will be sniffing around for him, i can only assume he is on next to nothing and Woods is on his way for whoever Dean wants as bring in as his actual no.1.

It does mean that the Rovers only have to look for 1 goal keeper in the summer - instead of possibly 2, one of which could have been at short notice if Sully had turned down the offer of a contract.

:scarf:

Can't for the life of me think of any sane reason why we would be offering Sullivan a new contract. Another bizarre decision in my book. The goalie position has been one of the glaring deficiencies in the team for god knows how long. Sulli just isn't physically up to it anymore.

Sully is an adequate back up. As long as this news is followed up with the signing of a new no 1 and Woods is sent out on loan for the rest of the season I will be ok with it.

Sullivan has still got it, few good saves at peterbrough, granted he shouldve maybe done better with there goal, but that happens! He's good in the air and very loud! Knows how to wind down the clock when necessary! And will be like a father figure within the squad to a lot of the younger players! And he's had a 20+ year career, mainly at the top 2 levels, and nobody has a bad word to say about him, he's a model professional. Good decision in my eyes!

Poor old Gary Woods. From 1st choice to nowhere in four weeks. Don't think that Saunders rates him.

Seems a long time ago that he was 1st choice for Brighton and happily pissing around with the ball at the edge of the box along with George Friend.
