Now obviously, I'm not at the game so I can't really comment on these goals conceded. But for me, Sully is well over the hill. Why people talk of him as our saviour amazes me.

It's been pretty obvious for some time now that Sully costs as many (if not more) points as he saves.

Seen giant redwoods hit the deck faster. If JR is desperate for us to stay up we need a keeper NOW.

Has Sulli been offered a new contract ?

I cant see a better keeper coming in when the club are gonna reduce the wage bill

You are talking crap !!!! if the defenders did their job Sully would not have be grasping a thin air. Under SOD WE HAD A SOLID DEFENCIVE RECORD but it is NOT SULLY'S fault for the way we are shipping goals by the bucket full. It's all wright bringing in DIOUF but we need a solid defence and a midfield general

Not defending Sully for the first goal, but to be fair to him, Martis really should've got a challenge in. Still, no way he should've been beaten at the near post that way.

So if the defence did their job properly then the opposition wouldn't get any shots away? Sorry mate, the defence weren't good, but a keeper shouldn't be beaten at their near post by pretty tame shots. Not sure about the second as he at least got something on it, but the first was awful.

I disagree, the full backs were exposed by the midfield for all 3 goals, in my opinion the midfield we to blame not tracking back, friend had a nightmare at left back because he was left marking two people, the forward and the player overlapping. The first goal was from a mis control by Hayter that put Naylor under pressure and he committed a foul but advantage was played, yes Sulli could and should have done better at his near post1 The second goal Friend was massively exposed and had to leave his man to get across to the overlapping player, who pulled it back to the player Friend had to leave, Sulli did well to get something on it before it trickled over the line! The third goal, a penalty came from Chimbonda being exposed again by the midfield not picking up and tracking runners! The midfield is the massive problem at the moment, And Diouf just oozed class in the first half, and will be a massive plus when fit!

Peterboroughs first goal a few weeks ago, although top cornerish made Sullivan look like he had lead boots on.

He even seemed to pull his arms in at the last moment.

JR  wouldnt agree to another year on Sulli's contract if he thought he could get better for the same money

That's my take on it too Filo but Sulli is still definitely over the hill and Martis well..........I could have throttled him for not even trying to do summat about that gosl

spot on sully did get something on it . then proceded to stand and watch it trickle over the line.:headbang:
a younger better keeper would have been after the ball and probably saved it

I hate the way he does that sometimes. The times I've seen him just stand and watch a ball hit the post...

Sully is past his best no doubt about it, and I'm sure he'd be the first to agree. He is not going to be agile or quick enough to do what he did 4 or 5 years ago.
Fact remains that the goals came about through weak defending in the first place, rash challenge by Naylor, martis standing off to allow a free shot, friend letting ball get past him to leave the boro lad an easy cross to play in.
Sully didn't do well with either final effort but he'd been left in the shit by others.

or go inside the post a la Cheltenham

I made the prediction at the end of the Season when we played Wolves away last game that Sulli was about to retire. SOD took him off with 5 minutes to go of the last home game and I thought - brilliant way to let the fans show him the appreciation je deserved .....

... unfortunately he stayed on and on and on and on Time to go oh oh oh

Sully was at fault for all THREE!! goals.
Goal 1 - First rule of goalkeeping I believe is: never get beaten at your near post.
Goal 2 - as someone else has mentioned he had made the initial save but then was too slow to react & stop the ball trickling over the line.
Goal 3 - What should have been a random save from the first shot he lets it bounce off him back to Emnes allowing Boro to develop the situation leading to the penalty (although the ball was about a foot out of play before he pulled it back!!).

He is too old, too slow & making too many basic mistakes.

I have always thought that he has been a great servant to the club & has saved or gained us many points over the time he has been here but he is beginning to become embarrassing. I feel he should retire now so his reputation does not become tarnished by trying to play on any longer.

We were in total control upto conceding the first goal & I couldn't see them scoring. However following Sully's inability to get down to a shot from outside the box at his near post you could see the heads drop. I still thought that we could hold onto 1-1 until half time then he allows the second one to trickle in - Game over after that.

Please Neil accept that you were once an excellent Keeper but you are now looking more like a Sunday League keeper.

I remember a piece of play from tonight in the second half, when the ball came back from Friend (I think) towards Sullivan. There was a misunderstanding, then Sullivan had to rush all of 5 yards to his left to get the ball. He reminded me of a water buffalo struggling to run through a paddy field.
