Good news, I hope.

But even more encouraging is the bit about the possible \"development team\" and getting a reserve team back. All very positive long term fixes. Great news all round.

I hope he is good and he could obviously be what we need
but the fact that he was rejected by us when earlier on trial tells me that he may not be brilliant

Or PR soundbites depending on your standpoint on all of this.

Excellent news.  He's a 6'5\" midfielder, 23 years old and has not scored any senior goals, which hopefully means he will be concerned with playing well within the team and leaving the goal scoring to those who can of whom we have two very good strikers.

On the face of it this looks like an ideal signing.

The deal didn't happen previously due to Not agreeing deal with the Blackburn!

Will this be a replacement for Gillett? will this allow Stock to play further forward?

Hopefully he will go in for the crunching tackles, give a big presence and give added support for the unstability at the back.

Also, hopefully it'll mean a return to the back line for Friend so he can do what he does best, and as Filo says, allows Stocky to push up further!

All positive!

Goulon, who can also play centre back, joined 'Boro from French champions Lyon and was being compared to Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira at the time.

Although he was unable to live up to that billing he made an impact with his strength and aggression, ball winning ability, and solid style of play

We`ll soon get him tackling like a fairy and get him scared to go in on 50/50`s!

I dont care if he's called Doris if it means that Gillette is out of the team he will do for me...Now if only i could convince Saunders to play Bennett in front of Coppinger we have a chance......
Quite frankly Coppinger would have to do a lot in training to get anywhere near my squad at the moment never mind play..He was lucky at Barnsley everybody else was that bad it hid just how pathetic  he was...Coppinger wants moving on in January sharpish but he wont go as he has his eyes on next years testimonial,he is rumoured to be the second highest paid player at the club which says it all...£300,000 we should have snapped there hands off..
Bennett for me has a lot more to offer and in my opinion has a better chance than even Sharp of making premier league....

Let's hope Goulonis better than what I have heard otherwise we have not improved the midfield, we will wait and see.

Strength and aggression?  Is Herold Goulon related to Herol Graham?  If so, and he really is 6ft 5, then we're all going to have to stop smashing buses up !

And if you didn't use South Yorks Transport in the early 80's, you won't have a clue what I'm on about

coppinger and i still think he was one of the best players at the club on his day but unfortunatley he hasnt been on form this season apart from the ipswich game where the assists for the goals were brilliant

It is answers like that which drive me mad...So basically Dickos your happy that he has been awfull for most of the year but two good crosses makes it all worthwhile...
