We hope that users of this forum recognise that we attempt to moderate this forum with a 'light touch'  we encourage debate and good humoured banter.

Recently however, there has been a tendency for a number of threads to degenerate into little more than slanging matches between individual posters and on occasions accusations and insinuations that arguably break the law.

This forum is public and we know that journalists read it and pick up on subjects and then try and turn them into stories.

You may have noticed that we have removed the thread under the heading of O'Dismal, this was following representation by Mr O'Driscoll and separately by his partner who found some of the comments both untrue and deeply hurtful. They have taken legal advice and believe that they could take action against the individual posters and the VSC. They do not want to do this, but neither do they want to be subjected to questioning by journalists who read our forum and try and make a story from it.
