Must admit Sam's getting my vote as well. Solid,no nonsense, didn't put a foot wrong. Start of a solid partnership hopefully

Sam was my MOTM. Im sure even Benaldo jumped up and applauded that slide tackle 2nd half.

Brilliant Sam, Brilliant.

Agreed all, Sam was immense today - well played young man. Also thought Stocky, Gillett, Copps and Jimmy had their best games for a long time. A game where it would seem the old SO'D boys realised that if they couldn't work with Dean's lads they'd be gone! Or maybe they got together before hand and said, \"Let's show this gaffer what we actually can do!\"

Either way, take a bow Dean and the entire team!

Gets my vote. Read the game extremely well and swept up like an old pro. Me and my mate who were on Stock watch today as we both argue about him and I'm pleased to say Stocky has a great game overall. Yes, he got caught on the ball which led to Sam having to put in a tremendous blocking tackle, but other than that he held things together extremely well.

Beye and Ikeme make such a difference and at times the defence looked 'composed' and I can't remember the last time I said that about a Rovers defence.

I thought we matched them in the first half. They may be had more of the ball but we had the best 2 chances of the half. Second half, we started to get on top of them and they resorted to more long ball tactics and ran out of ideas.

Had it not been for the linesman giving a mysterious offside for what otherwise was a stonewaller penno the victory would have been more comfortable.

Lets hope this is the turning point and the confidence drives us up the league.

Very satisfying.

Beye was awesome! Hopefully we can keep him all season he was rock solid today.

Nice touch at the end practically doing a lap of the pitch clapping the fans.

Absolutely and a couple of fist pumps thrown in for good measure.

No questions from me whether this 'misfit' cares about our club or not.

I too thought Hird was MOM, though it was a close one.

Also, Barnes looked very good when he came on, went in for balls, and it appears his pace is returning. Hopefully he'll continue to improve!!

In the lounge after the game JR said that Beye was the best defender he has ever seen at the club. He certainly runs Mills & Wheater close.

I thought Sam shaded it for MOTM today, but they were both excellent. I think having a decent keeper behind them has clearly given the back 4 a lot more confidence.

A good CONFIDENT keeper makes a lot of difference to a defence. They know he's going to either come and catch or punch crosses away or at least shout instructions if he can't get there.
Hird in my eyes has always been a decent solid no nonsense defender though has always come on from being paired with a more experienced centre half.
He was good with mills and Shackell and is now looking good again with Beye.
