I read the other day that Fulham were comtemplating offering 3.5 million. I hope it generates a bidding war and we get as much as possible although I doubt the money will be used to get a replacement unfortunately.

Hopefully it buys a keeper and a central defender to call our own.

It's going to be the first of many I fear until the bidding war is finished. On the bright side, at least there is a bidding war.

Whatever the clause is (and I was told last week by someone close to the previous management regime that when Billy first signed the clause was definitely £1.85, if Billy/his agent have agreed for this to be changed since then who knows) there cannot be a bidding war as the point of a clause means Billy is entitled to speak to whoever meets the asking price stated in his contract. Therre is no point clubs offering more in terms of transfer fee because they've triggered the release, their emphasis then will be trying to convince Billy with the best package. Whatever the clause is is what we will be getting.

As I understand it the clause/agreement will only allow Billy to speak to the club in question, they would still needs to agree terms with both Billy and DRFC. There's a potential for a bit of a Mexican stand-off between Billy and DRFC whereby he says \"I want to go to X\" and DRFC say \"We won't sell you to them unless they pay £Ymillion\".

So you're telling me Billy talked to Ipswich as well as Southampton? And turned them BOTH down?
