The task ahead
« on January 21, 2012, 05:02:44 pm by Chris Black come back »
We are currently five points from the fourth bottom team (Ipswich) who have 28 points and a minus 16 goal difference. We stand on 23 points with a minus 22 goal difference. So long as Ipswich with their crappy goal difference remains the team to catch we could expect five points to be the target if we can overhaul them on goal difference.

Is anyone else thinking this may actually go down to the final day when Dipshit Town come to the Keepmoat?? To me, it smacks of Wednesday-Palace t'other season.

Great.

We can effectively and comprehensively sabotage them by leaving lines of Mercs in the carpark for Jewell to plonk his backside on.

At some point we HAVE to get some points away from home as we can't rely on us winning all or most of our home games as i don't think we will, before i get labelled a doom and gloomer i am being realistic, DS has said that we need 30 points and looking at our fixtures i can't see us getting that points tally.

The task ahead is a very tough one and i believe that we need to pick up points from forrest and coventry away because realisically we cant win every game left at home. If it goes down to us needing to beat ipswich on the last day to stay up then i think i would be happy with that

From our away games at our present rate
Hull---------------------0pts
Crystal  Palace---------1pt
Leeds-------------------0pts
Notts Forest------------1pt
West Ham---------------0pts
Southampton-------------0pts
Leicester-----------------0pts
Middlesbrough------------0pts
Coventry-----------------1pt

Therefore we will need to win nine of our ten home games to achieve 30pts.
So the manager and team need to improve their away form to gain more away points.

We don't need 30 points. We need maximum of 50 points. We need to win 7 or 8 games with 5 or 6 draws, allowing 6 defeats

Think he means 30 more points.

It's definitely do-able with the majority (albeit only one more) of games being at home, although as others have said we definitely need to pick up points on the road. The games at the City Ground and the Ricoh will be massive.

So that's 30 from 19 now. Dickos 1 you may believe we only need 27 judging the last three years but teams with only 23 points at this time of year for the last 6years at least have been relegated. So we have to put an excellent run to get her and get at least 50pts to stand a chance. Let's hope we can but it is going to be very hard.

I know he means 30 points from now. That would give us 53 I think we need 50 points which is 27 more points from now
