With all the cold weather we have had and set to get colder still? Hope we have got the covers on.

Exactly what I was thinking, if weather is bad, surrounding access areas could be the main problem.

Minimum tomight -2, then -2 or -3 for the next two nights. Although the covers will keep that out, the problem is that daytime temperatures aren't going to get much above freezing.

I'd say a 50/50 chance. If we get snow then no chance of it being on.

I too have my doubts about Saturday's game being on. This cold weather that's coming from Russia really is going to be cold by the looks of it. I'm sure I saw that it was -25 in France last night.

I doubt the temperatures would reach that level here, but the covers can only handle upto -6 can't they?

The Cardiff players said that the pitch the other week was on of the hardest they have ever played on and suprised it was allowed to be played, doubt the game will be on saturday

Let's face it , the last thing we need is injuries caused by hard ground.  We are hanging on by the tips of Saunders pubes as it is... if you pardon the expression.. :pinch:

It's going to be evil cold by Saturday.. :(

 Given what time Reading will need to leave or is it taken
as read that theyu will stay overnight, what time will the
pitch inspection be?
I will be leaving at 11 o 'clock, seriously annoyed if it's called
off later than this.

Didn't one of the ground staff post on here ahead of a recent (Cardiff?) game?

I don't know how it is in Doncaster, but in South Lincolnshire it has been very cold but not enough humidity in the air for a frost last night.  Perhaps any frost on the pitch which is already under cover won't penetrate too deep?

The snow is forecast for later on Saturday, so the only issue will be a frozen pitch. I'd say it will be on but, hey, I'm no Diamond Dave.

Please someone ring the club and tell him not to predict anything, I've had to swop a half day shift for the game Saturday

I'm confident our head groundsman, Andy Thompson, will be keeping us posted ?

Let's be fair, the Keepmoat pitch has been kept in excellent order this season.

Down to -6C locally last night. Not looking good.

Although I'm not sure I fancy a 200 mile round trip with snow forecast for the late afternoon/ evening! Might be a good thing if it's off.

Hope we have too

Called on Monday at Castle Park and they had the covers on and their next game as I can see is not till Feb 18 v Rovram Titans (the day of Leeds away for us of course)

That is REAL preparation unless of course there is a game I dont know of coming up

If you look at the new picture of Diouf holding his no 10 shirt up that is on DROS you can see the covers are on, I just hope they'll be enough.

before the cardiff game we did the stadium tour and when talking about the pitch they claimed the covers work on temperatures down to -5. so it will be touch n go i think as it was -6 this morning in doncaster

Just been out on the sprawling lawns of the Filo residence and there`s definitely a crust on the surface, but the ground underneath still gave and would take a stud, but then again the grounds of our mansion are not situated next to a lake, at the moment I would guess that it will be touch and go whether the game will be on. I would have thought Andy would have given us an update and the benefit of his professional opinion by now
