Player contracts

When do they expire is it June or July?
That is when we will start to see some movement in and out.

30th June. I would much prefer it if, instead of bleating to the Free Press every week about how he's got to get the wage bill down before he signs anyone, Mr Saunders would simply say he doesn't expect to do any business until the start of July. That would represent the reality of the situation and would not start everyone worrying that we'll have no players for next season.

I see Preston made their 11th new signing today...

Looks like they mean business.

DS knows already who will resign under new terms, i suspect most of the pool who are/were first 11 last season. Its the ones not out of contract that cause the log jam.

Leicester signed a shed load of players last summer, didn't work for them. Laird, Mousinho and Holmes are very very good signings for PNE though, wouldn't have minded any of them signing for us.

We'll finish above them.

It wasn't that 'mouthwatering' signing at long last was it?

Difference is...how many of them are any good? A lot of them scream 'average L1 player' to me.

Doesn't really matter, it's just something else Donnybob has found to have yet another not so subtle dig at DRFC.

Westley seems to be signing as many of his old Stevenage squad as possible.

Don't they have Mr "Boom-and-Bust" Ridsdale there now? I'm sure they'll sign loads of players: whether they can afford to pay them is another matter!

R.E. Preston recruiting a lot of players,Westley has to mould them into a squad, which isn't an easy job when there are so many new players!

From the look of some of the players they have signed, they're not promotion team signings, though some are pretty good,in the end we will only know a few months into the season whether they are going to be one of the top teams,me personally i see them as a top half of table team, not far off but not quite good enough, now i've opened my trap they'll win it!!
