If that's true £150k is an absolute steal in today's market. Disappointing we couldn't get more for him even if he has struggled a bit recently.

But IMHO it is consistent with the 250K for George Friend who is a bit younger

True. But it just goes to show the gap between League One and the Championship. You have players like Steven Fletcher going for £10m from Wolves, which is just insane money. A few years ago Thierry Henry went from Arsenal for £13m, now division two players are commanding almost as much. Today's market is so inflated that £150k for O'Connor is absolutely nothing.

150k I'd say is about right, I don't think it's a steal.

We paid more for him when he only had one full seasons worth of League One experience behind him. £150k is a very disappointing amount for him!

We made only 20k on him despite him been a proven championship player now?

Should have been 200k min.

The difference being Derby knew we needed to sell which will drive down the price of anyone leaving DRFC this season. If Stock leaves we will be lucky to get £50,000

The markets changed since those days Mush, apart from the fact Jimmys older and has had a couple of poor seasons, it all changes things.

George Friend if he brought 250k,then surely Jimmy was worth around the 400k mark, another one undersold!!,Friend wasn't a good defender,Jimmy was an excellent all round defender,he had the football intelligence to play in either position and rarely got caught out positionally especially in the first few seasons, you always knew when he was on the team sheet what you were getting 100 per cent effort,he's gone now we move on let's hope he's got a young version of him lined up!! :scarf:

shame to see him go in some ways as is a top bloke always had time for fans and was always in good spirits when i met him , but then the freed up wages should help with the rebuild .
best of luck jimmy and thanks   :rtid:

As someone mentioned JoC has been indifferent for a while though I believe there have been mitigating circumstances for that.
Even so £150k is going on the cheap.
Even if he has been below par Derby still wanted him and they will be aiming for a minimum top half season so surely he's worth more than that.

You assume he will be in their "Best" team then. Not a foregone conclusion.

Not assuming anything. But they have obviously got some faith in his ability at the level they'll be aiming for.
