A lot of people were very positive this time last season. Lots of play off talk. High hopes for the likes of Giles Barnes and other signings.
I'm not trying to be a doom monger but just beware of big expectations.

I couldn't agree more. A draw against the WEndies and a win against Dull in ''friendlies'' has seemingly clouded most folks opinions imo. There's a bloody long way to go and possibly very good players about to leave.

Last season we were struggling to beat the likes of Barrow. We've just dominated a handy outfit in the division above for 45 minutes. Christ, "we'e Donny Rovers, we moan when we want"..

As for the fat kid i'm willing to bet there's not no fat on him. He just looks big as he always has. Wait while Rooney,Sharp get to that age they will be big as well. He is just a big bloke.

Are you seriously trying to argue that Robbie Blake is not fat and overweight? I hope I'm wrong but I fear that he'll probably turn out to be one of the worst signings we've ever made.

I don't think Robbie Blake is match fit, but I'm not sure he's fat. He's always looked fairly stocky throughout his career.

He looked similar to what he does now when he was curling free kicks in the top corner for Burnley in the Premier League.

Got to say after hearing on here he was fat I was expecting some gigantic load when I went to Rotherham but I saw him and he didn't look fat, he just looked like he has for the last ten years. He probably isn't quite match fit yet but I don't think he's out of shape.

Premiership sides don't have "fat" players. Some players are naturally bigger than others though. Take Rooney for example, Sir Alex says because he is a stocky lad he needs a run of games to get his sharpness. Blake will probably be the same. No one can doubt his ability if used in the right way.

Have to agree Blake's got a big build but he's not fat.  Equally he isn't fit.  He has a lot of quality any of us who've seen him would say that, those who post on here yet seem to have not attended games wouldn't realise the quality he has on the ball.

I can see him used as an impact player more than a consistent starter, but when he's fit I can see him doing very well.

Blake is stocky but he is carrying weight around his midriff ( more than a pro footballer should) to be fair he hasn't had much game time for 12 months and I expect him to lose the excess over the next few weeks. Probably get the best out of him as the season progressess

He may not be match fit. But you don't train like footballers train and have the diets they have and be fat. He is just a big bloke. If you saw him last night just before he went off do a qiuck trick and leave 2 Hull players and put Benno away with the ball. Will be a good player for us imo. Will he player every week? I doubt it. Will he do a good job at l1 level? you bet he will. Having a player like him in the ranks can only be a good thing imo.

Anybody know why he went off. He was signalling to the bench to come off. Reading this thread I assume he came off hungry

Couldnt disagree more, sometimes you have to be adult about it and understand that league one at best is where Rovers can compete and cut the cloth accordingly.

Robbie Blake is reminding me of Paul Barnes - build, attitude, experience.  I hope he can have the same effect.
