Football League Show

Pleased to see they changed the opening credits - a little less patronising now at least.
Here's the link to last nights show for those that missed it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01m9fsk/The_Football_League_Show_2012_2013_18_08_2012/ (fast forward to 39m31s)

Complete waste of time to those outside the UK.  BBC are hopeless.

It always has been and always will be a dire programme.

This is why I pay for a Sky subscription fee on top of the rip-off TV licence.

So you should be able to watch BBC content anywhere in the world even though it's paid for by licence fee payers in the UK? OK then.

You don't need a license fee to watch programs on i-player anyway.

Hmmm...ever compared the annual costs of both?

The law says it depends on whether or not it is live. When I moved into halls at University I didn't own a TV so I never paid for a liscence, after a few warnings I wrote to them explaining I do not own a TV and don't watch live programmes via the Internet. They turned up a week later with a warrant and my Laptop was seized and while they found no compelling evidence to prosecute me I was still forced to pay the TV liscence on the grounds that I owned the equipment to watch live programming. I wouldn't mind but the internet connection at the halls wouldn't stream live programming even if I tried.
As for your earlier comment regarding how poor the FLS is I find it better than the Championship that was on ITV, mainly due to adverts, we might not get the coverage some of us expect but in fairness I bet there is 68 different set of fans that feel that way every week. What does Sky offer in terms of FL highlights that BBC doesnt?

It's a good programme ,the reason most teams feel cheated by their teams coverage is because they haven't enough time to comment on most of the teams, the championship will always come first because it's their Premier league,Calendar and Look North have always given us short shrift even when we've been at the top,i don't think this programme is as bad as those two,got to admit i don't like the presenter though!!

It's not the coverage that I find annoying, it's the small talk and token drivel inbetween.

Does anyone really want to hear Steve's generic, half-arsed comments on recent events at Watford or Morecambe? And is it really necessary to show a goal again from exactly the same angle, not 1 minute after seeing it the first time, only this time getting to hear the genius punditry of Steve in the background?

It usually goes something like this (sort of):

Manish: That was an excellent goal by <Player name> wasn't it Steve?

*Starts to show goal again*

Steve: Yes it was. I know <Player name> from my time at <Club name> and he'll be proud of that strike. He doesn't score many but he's got brilliant technique.

*End of showing goal again*

Manish: <Manager name> is doing a fantastic job there isn't he?

Steve: Yes. <Manager name> hasn't been given much latitude to bring players in this summer but he's got his team playing football the right way. He's really doing a great job at <Club name>.

Manish: ...

It's idle nonsense. Getting rid of the emails and texts feature was a start now please just stick to showing the goals/action FFS! I really don't think that non-armchair supporters of FL clubs gain much from their 'analysis', and who else would be watching at 12 o'clock at night?

I'm currently in Hawaii and can access sky and all terrestrial channels on my iPad through myexpat.co.uk using a VPN costs a fiver. But was worth it to watch the goals today.

More fool you, I'll stick with Virgin media who are considerably cheaper across the board for similar packages.

LOL, so true.

Leroy is even worse than Steve too!  I like how they get the player names wrong too, like they have just read the script 10 seconds before the camera goes to them....  I cant wait to see this Carl Bennett kid we have playing for us.

I think that manish bloke is just so out of his depth to be honest plus his guests are even worse

Havent got a clue, should get someone from the bbc football to do it for example; Lee Dixon and Martin Keown or something, who actually know what they are on about

I dont particuarly like the blokes' presenting style but as he has been a sports broadcaster for 15 years its a bit off to say he's out of his depth and hasn't got a clue.

We got a Football League review last season in the States on Fox Soccer plus, but, checking the schedule it looks like we have lost it and live Championship games.

ITV got the format bang on in that show they had on a Sunday morning. Was on at a reasonable time too - was good to watch whilst tucking into a Sunday brekkie

I'd have Virgin if they could join the 21st century and provide the whole of the UK
