Refreshing
« on August 22, 2012, 12:35:28 pm by Alan_Rovers »
How refreshing is it watching Rovers again without the likes of Diouf, Picquionne, Plessis, Bagayoko, Goulon or Bamogo in the team.

Did we really sell ourselves down the river with that silly experiment last season or was it just a bad dream.

We've got our Rovers back!!!!!! RTID.

I agree it was a very positive feeling watching players playing for us because they GENUINELY want to be here.  Dean has assembled a very good first XI for this level.  Just need to add some strength in depth now.

Not only that, but they appear to have brought in a couple of new faces to the Vikettes this year.

... Refreshing changes all round  :aok:

Here, Here!

The 'big' name signings failed to ignite any excitement in me, to be honest it felt like watching some other club last season.

For the first time since SoD left I'm feeling really positive about the Rovers again, on and off the field. With these first three results under our belts, I think we can safely claim "we've started well".

Born in Doncaster whilst his dad, Alan, was playing for us.

Given 5 of those 6 did n`t muster a handful of games between them in the team, your post as usual is factually incorrect

Agree completely with those points.

I hope not, it would have scarred him for life.

Can't remember ever actually seeing Plessis play!

But know what you mean.

Yep agreed...But...

Filo's right too!

Filo is, technically, correct. However, watching clowns like Goulon did feel like I'd watched them for dozens of games, even though it was far fewer. Painful experience.

Rejoice in the hope for the future.

It also makes me chuckle how many people tarred Deano with the same brush just because he was "managing" that charade. Now he's being given a chance to properly manage, he's not making a bad fist of it. Early days but I agree with the sentiment of this thread - it's good to have our Rovers back. Good luck Deano...no pressure mate!

Whilst I wouldn't swap having been privy to the 'halcyon days' of watching a Rovers team playing passing football in The Championship, I'm delighted to have watched a team of players on Tuesday night that I've no doubt I'll very quickly be able to 'buy into'.

Let's hope, in their own way, they go onto making us equally as proud of them as we were of the team we watched for 3 out of 4 seasons of those Championship days.
