What would everybody think to trying 2 drums tonight?
« on August 28, 2012, 05:46:41 pm by DRFC.drummer »
Many teams have used it efectivly and if we can get people around the drum we could try improve the atmosphere? I think hull would be a good game to try it as it will be empty and room to try it?

A couple of years ago I'd have said yeah, but all home games I've been to this season the "drummer" seems to bang the drum on odd occasions with the odd few supporters singing, just doesn't seem worth it.

Wouldnt even have the drum anyway

Annoying waste of time which no one cares about anyway plus it doesnt do anything for atmosphere

It'd have to be a no from me, but nothing against the Drummer as such, as in the majority of games when some of us try to get the atmosphere going the drummer does bang it as hard as he can to try and help the atmosphere but unless we're winning only a few join in, I don't think a second person wasting their time banging a drum to the silent crowd who doesn't react will increase it rapidly.

However the In Rovers We Trust project is looking to tackle the atmosphere so hopefully it should improve, and when the atmosphere is a lot better then maybe a second drum would be a better effort.

b*llocks the best atmospheres are usually thanks to the drum and to say nobody cares about it is just wrong

some do care about the drum,  I don't and think they should be banned from football grounds but we have a big enough ground to move away from it which I do. There is a lack of atmosphere at the keepmoat as there is at alot of new all seater grounds, but lets not forget until we started winning regularly belle vue was hardly ever booming. Anyway I'm rambling so play your drum if you want, but if you play it next to me I'll be a very unhappy man!

Who cares about a drum. With football like we saw tonight, it proved we can create a good enough atmosphere with out a spotty little teenager brainlessly banging a drum out of tune at irregular intervals.

Definite no from me.

I agree however the atmosphere was far better in those last 50 mins. than many occasions when we've had 9000+ supporters in the Moat. Just shows how ALL supporters will react given the ''bottle'' shown by the team tonight. :)

If the team plays like that ie with passion going in for every ball back tracking when we do lose it the the fans will react and get behind them

I think it would have been better early if we hadn't conceded two in ten mins

It all definitely came from Husband's strongman tackle. That got the crowd and team fired up. I was surprised by Bruce's condemnation of it,  tbh. Not one of the Hull players reacted when the tackle was put in and if it's a bad one the player's are the first to start pushing and shoving.
