Cotterill

Don't know why everyone is so surprised that he played crap yesterday. We got told before he arrived that he lacks consistency. Lets not be too hard on him though because if we can get 10 - 15 games of him playing really well then he will earn us a few extra points on his own this season.

As rubbish as we were yesterday, we were only 2 or 3 minutes away from getting a point from the game so it isn't all doom and gloom just yet.

The problem yesterday was the midfield or lack of it,M Woods  is not a midfield general he does not mark up stands in open spaces and  then slow to react i do not accept that its because he has been out for 2years with injuries. that does not affect ones ability

Fek, me he's 24, so far had one below par game out of 4, and in the others he has been either MOM or close to it. If he played like the last few weeks consistantly we wouldnt have been close to getting his services. Very happy with him so far, some perspective people??

6 points from the first 3 games and a derby game to look forward to, on Tuesday evening....
Decent foundation to the season so far.

What has been nice, is that we have had an unchanged team (for the 3 league games). The more the back 5 five play together, the more the understanding will increase.
The more Cotterill and Martin Woods play, the more their confidence will grow too. Both have hardly kicked a ball for ages, so the more games they get (injury free), then they will play themselves into form.
Same can be said with Brown and Paynter.

Another big plus for me so far, is seeing the growing maturity of Kyle Bennett. Yep, he got a kick in the first minute, but rather than hiding (like last season), he gave it a right good go yesterday.

Despite the result yesterday, I am very optimistic that with a few more bodies in the squad, we'll win a lot more than we lose (but also show a fighting spirit in each game too).

We are underdogs on Tuesday and next Saturday, so we have nothing to lose.
Nice little cup shock against Hull, then lets go to Huish Park and knock the leaders off their perch too.

Well mr absolutedrfc i have only seen the last 2 matches but cottrill was poor in both as was the rest of the midfield and the defence whilst not conceding much mostly resorted to hoofing forward
It was obvious to me and most of my oppos that after half time we were second best so either piss everyone off and aim for a point or change it and go for all 3
We seemed to fall somewhere between the two

That performance wasnt good enough especially at home a plan b would be welcome as well as a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
So for instance 2 slow big blokes marking 2 smaller blokes was only helping them adapt

We could always swap the 2 slow big blokes at the back for the small fast blokes in attack ..........that would confuse them.
