« on August 25, 2012, 07:07:33 pm by Dagenham Rover »
Get some parking wardens or police to move the knobheads parking opposite bus stops/in bus stops moved they are causing friggin havoc  when buses are loading and stopping.
Case today,  bus is stopped at the bus stop towards town loading passengers 2 idiot cars parked dead opposite, you walk a bit furthur up and theres a layby with the bus stop in it ..........full of parked cars  60 quid tickets for a few weeks will sort em,

Maybe Rob or Steve can get SYPTE to explain what is happening with the shuttle bus (75x)?  :saywhat:

Rob, the whole area is double yellows and no loading kerb marks, people shouldn't be stopping there to wait and pick people up and it is dangerous and totally ignored.
A few years ago there was  parking wardens down booking cars etc, however I've a feeling this needs more like the police to tell them to move, its not as if there is a few people trying to get across the road etc there is basically hundreds +

(sorry the police are too busy trying to get home after the overtime to even consider taking 30 seconds out and telling the drivers to shift as they walk past the illegally waiting cars)............god I'm getting a cynical old git.........

SYPTE have nothing to do with 75x. It was arranged to run after the game however Rovers informed First they did not require it yesterday.

The partnership between Rovers and First has not been finalised yet and this will be in place by the start of October.

As part of the partnership First have requested stewarding of the buses, which should address the parking issue. In addition Rovers are looking into the buses departing from a car park rather than the bus stop.

Just to add, there was also no bus prior to the game as well.
Every one was ushered onto the Lakeside bus which was a single-decker as well....

Rovers have said there is no need for a shuttle to the game as part of the partnership on Saturday games as the 20 min service is adequate. The fans survey also suggested this was the case. Was there capacity issues? If so maybe this can be reassessed.

I saw one bus refuse passengers cos it was full it certainly was downstairs and tbh there appeared to be empty seats upstairs at the back but if nobody will go up what can the driver do (I wasn't on the bus but looking from the pavement) I could be wrong but don't think so.

Stewarding of the buses is a good idea and at one of the away grounds we went to a few years ago the park and ride was stewarded (can't for the life of me remember where)
however that won't sort the idiots parking and waiting to pick people up and turning the road into a single lane.
The yellow lines and no loading is round the kms for a reason especially after a game get it policed

There are also clearly 2 NO ENTRY signs AND a road closed sign all to stop cars etc coming from The Park Hotel to Ladybank Roundabout

The road is open only to allow traffic from Ladybank INTO that road and the exit is supposed to be via the next Roundabout (north) into White Rose Way ....

.... but did it stop Cars leaving that way on Tuesday and Saturday ?  No it did not and it was almost a flood on Saturday so Police - stick an Officer there as well

Thanks, what time was the full bus at?

It must have been within 9/10 minutes of the final whistle we came out of the south walked round crossed the road it was at the bus stop more or less opposite the west stand, and thats the place were the idiots were parked exactly opposite the bus stop cutting the road down to one lane.

To be fair he was definitely full downstairs  but looking up towards the back there appeared to be empty seats upstairs but what can the driver do if no bugger will move up

Thanks. I can understand after the game and more buses are being put on soon. Before the game there are not capacity issues and no shuttle is going to be ran on Saturday games from now on which is why people are asked to board the 75 service.
