No we lost 2-1
Calum Saunders scoring for us after being 2-0 down. He looked a really good player though, currently playing for Crewe youth team I believe?

Think the rovers team sat back and let them play most of the game easily. Never heard screams like it in my life every time Louis touched the ball!

Also a penalty shootout at the end where fowler, windass and the competition winner scored. Louis missed his first penalty but got to retake it as maxted had come off his line (which he didn't). We also lost the shoot out.

Sounds cringeworthy. All for a good cause I suppose.

Saunders Jr. one to keep an eye on perhaps, playing for Crewe's famous youth team means he might well have something about him. Worth keeping tabs on, maybe.

By all accounts Rovers XI took it very easy, but you know, all for a good cause. Notice 9,000 turned up, would expect it to have been a sellout, or maybe I'm overestimating how popular One Direction are.

To say a very large proportion was young girls at 9k i thinks brilliant to say its a footy match.

Had it been a concert, which i wouldnt rule out for future, they imo would sell it out twice.

Must say I was surprised to read on the OS that only £10K was raised for Bluebell Wood. Can anyone explain how the gate money gets distributed in games like this? Seems a bit tight to me like!?!?!?

entry fee was only £5 and £3 for kids, so that's about right

9000 x £3 = £27,000 so surely they must have raised more than £10k

Hopefully none of the "stars" were paid to turn up, stewarding can't be more than £3k, I'd have thought there would have been bucket collections, raffles etc

What about the ticket office people, security, food staff, running costs etc. There probably were other collections but the £10,000 is from DRFC

The cost of the snack bar staff should be more than covered by the sales of food & drink.

I presume the Keepmoat (ie DRFC) didn't charge to hire the stadium out for the night.

I was very disappointed that a BIG money raising chance was missed with only 2000 raffle tickets being printed with over 9000 people expected. My daughter and I tried to buy £5 worth each to be told they had all sold out. And that was well before kick off. With the prizes on offer they should have printed many more.
