Deano interview - bad injury news
« on October 23, 2012, 10:27:40 pm by MachoMadness »
Husband only has cramp, but Quinn might be out for 3-4 weeks and only just got through the game.

Cotterill pulled his calf quite badly, don't know how long he'll be out but Deano says it's serious so he won't be playing on Saturday. Not good.

Hopefully Griffin can do a job in place of Quinn then, and surely now we'll have to sort out a deal for Clingan? I know he's not a winger, but Syers played wide right tonight when Cotterill went off, and we also have Blake who can play wide.

So Husband will be ok, Griffin in for Quinn, and Cotterill the main concern

We can play Woods out wide and Bennett on the right maybe, looks like we might have to do some wheeling and dealing before Saturday or patch up the team with players out of position.

Clingan would be a good shout.

That was the first thought that popped into my head. Plus be good to get those 3 on the pitch together.

We need a wide man on loan, even before tonight to give Bennett a kick but even more so now.

From my recollection of us rolling over against NC in the cup, those pair of little fat lads up front are our biggest issue, get the defence right for saturday, 0-0 will do me just fine.

Pretty sure we can't call Copps back. Good call with Hume in a wider position and other option of switching Bennett if necessary.

Hope we do sign Clingan now.

Anyone know why Martin Woods wasn't in the lineup or bench last night? Is he also out for a while?

Get Woods out on the left, offers little in centre mid and proved he can cross a ball on saturday. Syers on the right or Bennett, you never know he might actually take the full back on down his stronger side.
Would love to see Copps back but doubt it will happen, at least we have the memories...

Yes? I take it you're getting at the fact Woods and Bennett have been poor this season. Considering our squad is so thin I don't think we have much choice, that's the only solution I can think of where we're not playing people out of position.

When Martin woods 1st joined us he was bought in as a left midfielder/winger.  The midfield was

Woods, Stock, Wellens, Copps

It was only when stock was out for a long time or when we sold Wellens that he moved to the centre. He's never been good enough in that position and should move back out on the wing

Just heard a follow up interview from Deano:

He's looking for a loan player, midfield is not a priority as we have plenty of cover there. We're looking for defensive cover as if anything happens to Jones we are knackered. He kind of ducked the question regarding how close we are to bringing anyone in, saying "it's all about finding the right player", and he also hinted that young, inexperienced defenders aren't what we're looking for because of the way most teams in this league play. Looks like it might rule out that young Premiership RB then.

According to Twitter, Cotterill is using an oxygen chamber to try to get back to fitness as soon as possible.

There is a pic on cotterills twitter of him and quinny in a oxygen chamber so looks like we are being proactive in trying to get players back
