However your easy defense re. the attendances does to some extent imply that you are neither surprised and accept poor crowds because it's a cold Tuesday night !We have this debate about every midweek match, however I believe it's a false argument these days when folk are far more likely to work some if not all Satdis in these days of 24 hour opening rather than working shifts. Am I wrong ?I think your argument is all too convenient as well. If OUR attendances are particularly low because WE'RE not playing very well, then how do you explain the general drop in attendance that is a football league-wide trend this season? Are the majority of teams in the land playing poorly at home? If that is the case, maybe we should accept that our performances are the norm.In League One, there are only 3 or 4 teams who were in this league last season who have a higher average attendance so far this season than they did last season. Most of the others are considerably lower. Even teams like Stevenage and Sheff United who are flying in the league are getting lower gates than they did last year. It's the same story in the Championship.Would you expect Swindon, PNE and MK Franchise as well as the expected Blades, Coventry and Pompey to have higher average attendances than Rovers personally given our recent history in the Championship and their poor averages over the years............I wouldn't! It has to be down to performances as we have had the results. We currently average 6111.Other teams averaging close to our average are as follows;-Shrewsbury 5857Tranmere 5936Notts Co. 5987On that basis it wouldn't take much to make us only the 10th best supported club in the Division.
