Plebgate

So it looks like the coppers in the Plebgate affair have been a bit naughty with the truth. In fact it looks like one of them has been in Walter Mitty land.

Who'd have thought it eh? After how upright and honest they were at Hillsborough and Orgreave, who'd have thought the police capable of inventing evidence to try to shaft someone?

And isn't it interesting that when the shaftee is a prominent member of the Tory party, the Govt scream for an investigation immediately? Whereas it took 23 years of relentless pressure from the Liverpool families to get to the bottom of Hillsborough. And we're still no nearer seeing the police brought to book for Orgreave 28 years after the event.

John Randall's constituent and John Randall's constituent's nephew reported back from both Hillsborough and Orgreave. They were happy to report that both events had passed off without incident.

If you'd like a wide sweeping generalisation regarding the nature, morals and behaviour of people of power in this country these days, and that includes the press, the media, the police, the politicians, senior business leaders, products of public schools, town and countryside planning (though not necessarily as a result of local planners and processes) and even, sadly, some of the Civil Service too, well, corruption, feather bedding, nepotism and protection of friends at the expense of the plebs doesn't even begin to cover it. This country is fundamentally corrupt. And you what's worse than all of that lot put together? That we all, collectively, sit here quiet as mice. To change the analogy, sheep is what we are.

Speaking of Orgreave, SYP have recently referred cases to the IPCC.
