Nigel disappeared off the face of the planet once that silly court case was concluded.Lived in Hampshire or somewhere I think at the time. Long drag for him to get to the KM week in week out if he was going to be ridiculed when he got there. And the DRFC officials weren't his biggest fans at the end either. Probably decided to move on elsewhere with his life. I did mail him a coupla times back in the day but he didn't respond.

Andy was very ill. I've not heard of him for some while now but last time I did hear he was a bit better but basically has changed his lifestyle.

Tetley: never heard of him.

 Wroey's still running a football league forum, easily googleable, although I still wonder if he's still aound with some of the sponsership thats about probably totally wrong, as Bob said there was a few run ins,

and also as Bob said Andy was very ill and I believe it was wanted to be left at that

tetley still goes to some games, seen him at a few away games.
Andy still   alive and kicking, see him on his bike between Retford and Barnby Moor  some nights on way back from work.

Obviously I respect Andy Liney for the decision he's made, but I don't know whether I could do it. To walk away from a club that is so close to your heart- not just for a few weeks but for good.

Having said that I guy I know well and who was a stalwart of the Supporters' Club has turned his back on the club and although he still takes note of results he hasn't been to a game for some time. So I suppose it can happen. Just not sure I could do it, whatever the reasons might be.

I agree- but as I say I respect his reasons.

Those who follow England would know better than me, but I did hear that he attended a few England games after he cut his links with Rovers. Not sure if he still goes though.

Err, why exactly did someone who did so much for the club turn away?  I appreciate he had health problems but surely he'd get a heros welcome if he came back?  I didn't always agree with him especially when he first discovered the internet, but I'd buy him a pint as thanks for his part in the stadium.

I've thought about turning away on a number of occasions over the past seasons.  It' really taken some getting used too as I loved Belle Vue and its terracing regardless of it's appearance and the Keepmoat still doesn't feel like home.  Still hangning on in there though...

I bumped into Andy a few years ago.  I can't remember everything he said but he gave me the impression he had pretty much been forced out by a number of individuals. I don't think they were DRFC staff though.

Seemed that experience and his health problems were a step too far after all he had done for th lub and supporters.

He and his wife seemed to be enjoying spending a lot of time out on their boat.

Sorry Bob I don't really know.  I am sure however hat it wasn't anybody at DRFC. So not staff, directors etc

There were only a couple of Directors then, Bob.  Andy, Ken, and maybe one other who's name escapes me.  And no, it wasnt them who upset him.

It wasn't anyone at the club (staff or directors). I seem to recall it was a group of fans (not VSC officials) with whom he fell out. I think it got quite nasty, which considering Andy wasn't well at the time was all he needed!
