Performance of Champions
« on April 01, 2013, 02:44:32 pm by Mr1Croft »
Finally we dominated the midfield at home, dictated the play and despite being denied a host of chances by superb goal keeping and dodgey ref for 30 minutes we kept at them and got the goal we deserved and rather than sitting back as we have done in previous game we carried on pushing forward and earned the 3 points as a team.

We're Donny Rovers! We're top of the league :scarf:

I second that, the wellens type player we've been waiting for.

We've been missing a guy like Furman ever since Wellens left, completely ran the show today just as he did in the 2nd half against Cov   :scarf:

Awesome performance today. Swindon, who are a top side, didn't have a real shot all game did they? Everyone was exceptional today, fully deserved win.

I didn't understand why people were so down after Cov because it's not the odd defeat that kills you, it's how you respond. And we bounced back in style. What we calling this one then? The Swindon Success? The Swindon Superiority? The Swindon Significance?

I would say that Furman is more like Stocky and Lundstrom more like Wellens.

Furman and Lundstram worked their socks off in the middle allowing players like Cotterill to do more damage further forward.

Agree Redmist. Furman looked like a younger, fit Stock to me. Great game.

What a difference today.  Magic to see our midfield controlling the game.

Carry on in that form and I foresee some silverware heading our way and a little pot of gold too!

Also agree with that. Both are intelligent on and off the ball. Particularly Furnman today put his body on the line and wasn't content with making tackles, he very often found a shirt.

If there was any lingering doubt amongst the players, then they've put that to bed today. Go and win it lads.

If signing Furman is down to Brian Flynn then I'm excited to see which players arrive in the summer!

We started with the same 11 players that finished at Coventry, and carried on playing in the same style.  Shame the first half at Coventry was so poor.

Today's was an almost complete performance against a team supposedly up for promotion.  I say almost, as all that was lacking was a few more goals.  No complaints though, one was enough :)
