The fact that a large majority of the people slagging her off are students, the unemployed, the prisoners and the terrorists says it all for me.

Maggie made mistakes but a damn site less than Blair and Brown, she was a Great Briton and a great leader, the woman had balls and I for one wont be celebrating her loss.

Sorry to say MIKA, that in South Yorkshire you will be in the minority, but then democracy is about people having different views.  Most people on here can't even agree about the Rovers, Gary Woods for example.

As much as I disagree with you, I respect your opinion.

Simple solution for me if they try a minutes silence - "all together now - ding dong the witch is dead, ding dong the witch is dead....." - non stop for the minute.
And let anyone try and stop me.

Totally inappropriate. Irrespective of which political leader/figure passed away it has no place at a sporting venue unless that particular figure had a strong connection with the club and the fans felt a mark of respect was appropriate.

If the powers that be sanction this then, sadly it tells you just how much they are out of touch with the average working person.

Iam in two minds on This one,as Yes she did fcuk up
Our national industries and in turn  local commnunities.

But in the same thoughts i can recall how badstue country was just before she got in,and that was after labour and conseratives had Made a pigs ear of Been in turn.

A minutes silence is far too Much to Ask for and accept, but on the other hand some form Of respect is required.

Put it This way if she was at the helm today i doubt the uk would be under orders from brussells and the immrigation, boarders and benafit system would be far better controlled.

She signed over more to Brussels than any predecessor if I remember rightly.

For those that remember she demonized football fans as hooligans, wanted to introduce I'd cards to all for football matches and had no time at all for the national game and working persons sport. There will be no minutes silence at any football ground. They can ask for it , demand it and invoke it. It will not be respected. A lot of fans will turn backs, chant shout, call it what you will. N ground in this country will have a silent minute. The memory of this individual is best respected during her funeral next week, not at any football match, ever.

A poll on the telegraph website where thousands have voted is 70 percent against this.

Stockton is right, but to make it more of a statement then I would turn my back facing the pitch whilst ding dong'ing.

It doesn't matter what she did or didn't do whilst in power, whether you agree or disagree, a mark of respect for a political figure has no place.

When you think of all the political figures who have died since her reign, did we observe and or even think about observing a minutes silence.

If my club or any club attempt to stage this I will be more angered by that, than any political debate about her legacy.

Maybe a selection of hand-picked tunes for half time?

Margaret On the Guillotine
November Spawned a Monster
Stand Down Margaret

etc

She was spawned in October, so that's no good.
