Are the other two on the shortlist according to Paul Goodwin. How Dickov and Appleton are ahead of Mcall i'll never know. Goodwin also says that its Dickov and Appleton's contacts that impress the board. The if that's the case then why don't we hire Willie Mckay as the manager. Really dissapointed with the board on this if it does turn out to be Dickov or Appleton. We want a manager that can manage the team not who he knows. Surely if a manager wants a player but doesn't have contacts he can still contact the club where the player is at to acquire him I don't see this interest in contacts. The 18 point thing was all bullshit otherwise Appleton or Dickov wouldn't get anywhewre near the job. Just hoping it turns out to be someone else apart from them two.

People put too much emphasis on the manager. They are really not as important as people think.

We will be as good as the players we sign in the summer and that will be the bracket we work within (most likely scrapping for relegation). Everything else is tinkering around the edges.

The most important thing is that the club have the best player recruitment strategy as early as possible. All 4 of the shortlist were 'uninspiring' if you look at it on paper but it doesn;t matter.

I'm pleased its not Levin but when McCall was manager of Bradford they had a lot of problems that wasn't an easy job, he's done more in management than Dickov or Appleton.

At least they both have good records outside of English football, Appleton and Dickov don't even have good record's in English football!
