If there is one club I seriously fear could give us a tonking next season it's Reading.Already signed Wayne Bridge and some lad who used to play for the Real Madrid. Apart from that they already have a squad which is good enough to win the championship (maybe a little weak defensively).Early favourites for promotion/title for me.How do we compete with clubs like this who have had parachute payments and premiership money a few times now !?

We ALWAYS lose to Reading! Doesn't matter how much money they or we have.

We can't compete with them full stop. I was at that 7-5 game and I think both Ian Snodin and Kerry Dixon both got hat tricks before half time??Score in the next home game after this one? 6-4 to Rovers! Can't remember who against!

Drenthe was highly rated a few years ago and will probably be a very good signing for Reading but he is not 'top 10 Prem quality' at all.
Sept 84, I think we won 4-1 away and Alan Brown got a hat-trick
February 1976 1-0 to the mighty reds les chappell at elm park[/quoteRemember it well !!!
