Marc posts " I have broken the inner tendon. 'll be between 8 and 12 weeks off but I'll be better every day "

... he is clearly a fighter and positive .

So we won't be seeing him until a couple of months into the season at least. Gutted. Hope he's a fast healer and is back closer to 8 weeks, then he'll only miss a handful of games.

Steve Uttley seems to suggest on Facebook that it might not be as clear-cut as that:

"Steve Uttley
specialist next week. physio has said they wont know till they have seen him about results."

""Steve Uttley

Is that official or unofficial. If it's not on DROS, can't be official can it??

Once again, it appears our 'official' comms team have chosen to use alternative media to provide an update whilst DROS does not cover it.

If it's feasible, I suggest they club embed the Twitter feed in the home page of DROS and then things like this will be available simultaneously.

I think (and this is only me "thinking") Steve was trying to manage the flow of info on social media... The "news" about Marc's recovery time went on Facebook and Steve asked for the source of it. He then made that remark.

As it stands (and I haven't seen Marc's post on Facebook - apparently he made one, but now it's gone) there isn't any news, is there? Assuming Steve is right (and why would he fib?), there won't be any concrete information about it until next week... I'd suggest it's a waste of time to write a piece that basically says "Marc's had a scan, but we won't know anything until next week." However, I think it's appropriate to stem the tide of BS on Facebook - if indeed it is BS.

This was a tongue in cheek reflection of a recent thread which you may recall the complaints about the lack of "news".

This is not about the person in particular but an observation about the mediums used to relay information. It's the inconsistency I think. One person's news is another person's chip paper !!

Fair play, my bad - it's been a long day and my humour gland is malfunctioning.

Still, it does appear (at least as far as I can tell) that the initial reports about Marc's injury might not be accurate. We shall see.

Wasn't a go at anyone! Perhaps I need to punctuate with smileys (Although it was a serious suggestion about the Twitter feed)

Anyway, as you rightly point out let's hope for a better prognosis.

Red, I know there's the link there but they could have a window on the Home Page where the twitter feed was visible.

Do you remember the Twitter feed we had on here?

Are we talking about the same thing here? there's a section named "view from the stands" on the home page, that's what I mean.

Goodwin reporting that De Val's injury could mean Wellens is back on the agenda.

Oh,

I thought there were reports of a training compensation or something along those lines?
