He said he didnt begrudge us going up as his Wolves got relegated. He did his job here, John Ryan is an amazing man. He was never offered the job again after he left Wolves...Ryan had his eyes firmly on Dickov from the start. He said the Wolves job wasnt what he was promised, signed a gagging order so cant say too much, but he was expecting money for new players, never got it, only had 3 months in the job and they gave him the boot. Never heard a word from Wolves chairman to this day, he got somebody else to sack him.

Something which annoyed me slightly or maybe im reading to much into it.

When they showed the Rovers goals Saunders said something along the lines of Browny will be gutted about those 2 goals not counting as I told him score 15 or more in this division and you will be earning 25k a week somewhere else.

Is that the kinda thing you need to be saying to your own players?

Yes you should be.  Not many would dream of playing for us.  Brown loves being here, but give him 25k in the Prem and he'd be taking it, we'd all want to do better and I think that's a good motivation tool surely?

I wasn't a fan of Saunders to start with, but I grew to like him and appreciate what he did in his time at DRFC, he came in and changed a lot of things for the good. He did a job in League 1 and he obviously had a big part in our league winning season. Not nice hearing/reading what happened to him at Wolves, and hopefully he'll have a new club in the near future.

Good luck Deano.

Caught part of The Footballers Football Show last night, Rednapp jnr, Hoddle and Mr Saunders.
As expected Rednapp and Hoddle were doing most of the talking but Mr Saunders was asked what he thought about how Liverpool were doing and what to expect when Suarez is back. After much cliché he came out with the statement that it was obvious that Sturridge would be dropped for Suarez, simple. You could hear the other 2's jaws hit the floor! No they will play together says R and H and Aspas will be on the bench. Over to Mr Saunders more cliché then ....so Sturridge will have to play on the wing! R and H looked embarrassed for him It all became too cringeworthy and I had to switch off.

That's one way to utilise such a potent goal-threat!
