Phantom goal in the Bundesliga

Seems like the exact opposite of the one Mark McCammon "scored" at Brentford a few years ago and wasn't given. This one WAS given even though it goes in through a hole in the net.

The keeper really shouldn't be getting beat at his near post !

must have known he'd missed, still celebrates !

I remember the one at BV in the conference which was a goal, hit the back top corner stantion and came out, the ref thought it had hit the post when every one else in the ground knew it had gone in

Did Mark McCammon not get robbed of a goal that went the other way out of the net at Brentford in the cup one year?

Yes he did. Good job we were side on and not behind the goal. Imagine the mayhem.

I still WISH that Tris (I think it was) had got his studs to the cross immediately afterwards at the Rosso end - what a riot that would have been

I was right by the Corner Flag at Rosso End (Main Stand side) and as you say could clearly see from there that that their shot was in. There followed a surreal minute as (Yeovil?) their players celebrated at the Town End but Rovers fans in the Main Stand were making hand signals to the away Fans and I thought "why are they baiting THEM they have just scored" but looking back to the field Rovers were progressing down the Pop Side and as I say the resulting cross was within a fag paper of producing a Rovers goal

Then the "resulting" BUZZ of conversation around the ground as people discussed what had happened was a sound I had never heard before nor since - really strange

Telford Wolf. Good name for a 70s heavy metal drummer.

Telford, wolf.

It was Telford. As they won the game 3-1 it took a bit of the heat out of the controversy. Though as DW says, imagine the furore if Rovers had gone down the other end and scored?

Incidentally Tris Whitman has just signed for Bedworth United.

Yes ... I always think Telford initially then change to Yeovil. Remember the kit was not Green/White

Remember also great photo in Free Press showing ball right in back of net in top corner

Here's one from Scotland where the ball goes in and the ref (somehow) misses it! It is after 1.10.

I tweeted @Mikebreakfast to see if I could get McCammon's goal mentioned.  Didn't manage it though
