Robinson

Just watched rerun of the game.he was very in effective and lost the ball many times.maybe playing in the wrong position, pity brown injured, need someone to hold the ball up for macheda.                            Our defence looks weak under pressure.hope we can sort something for Tuesday.                                                                                      Our bench line up last night looked very lightweight, but can only be expected due to the injury situation.                                                    Hope squad will be strengthened for Tuesday.                                      At least in a poor game we achieved a win, glag we have turnball.

Thought earlier in the season before all the injuries kicked in, he was at his best out right when we were playing 3 up front.

He's not a target man (Brown) and not good enough to come deep and knit play together (Macheda).

He needs Browny next to him imo, and that won't be happening for a while.

BP for me

It is not  his game to play that far up front so can't blame him for not doing it well

Stop making excuses for the lad, he has a lack of skill, terrible workrate and if he's got pace i'm linford christie

I think he's got fast pace, but a slow brain.

He is also our joint top scorer despite being played on wing most of time he has been here.

He's got pace, but he's no idea how to use it. After watching him away at boro I realised he has no idea when to make a run and where to make a run must be so difficult as a winger or midfielder trying to create chances for him

We knew he'd be like this when we signed him to be fair. Direct, raw pace and power and a good workrate but a frustrating lack of skill. That's what you get for £150,000 at this level. You're always going to get games where he frustrates you but we'll also get games where his ability to charge straight for goal and hound defenders gets us goals. He's far from the complete package but I don't know what people expect.

If they expect better then we have pay £1m for striker say like Billy, which a majority of clubs at this level do or loan them.

What about playing Copps or Duffy up front with Macheda?

Syers upfront could be an option prehaps i know he is a midfielder but he knows where the net is. He got a couple for Scunny and his second was down to his endeavour to follow up in the box as a striker should be doing.

He's done well when we've had no option but to play him up front before too, goal in the first minute or so at PNE and a good display v Hull in the cup - not suggesting it's a long term option, like. But he does have a place here.

I would have thought that the 50 or so times weve tried playing Copps up top without success would be enough to realise not to bother...As for Robinson my Derby mate told me when he signed that his problem was he wasn't consistent enough...one week 8/10 followed by 3 5/10...So far I cant argue with him..On his day he's very good but the majority just too predictable...

I remember when Copps played just behind the lone striker in our eventful first season in the Championship. He took that position in the 2nd half of the season.

He was awesome.

The midfield 4 behind him were awesome too, which included Messers Wellens and M Woods.

Not sure if we have the right set up for that now like.

Just seen a 99% likeness to Copps on MNF..........Longs first goal:

Make run towards opposition box. CHECK
Anticipate 40yd ball over the top and also coming over your own head. Bring it down into your stride instantly. CHECK
Stop your body immediately and defy gravity whilst defender is unable to do similar. CHECK
Turn body into the direction that you have just sent the ball too and still under your control and stride, in one movement. CHECK
Immediately smack the ball into the net and past the fully stretched goalkeeper without the ball touching the ground. UNCHECK.

That 1% Jamie, that bloody 1% mate. Top player

His control is a joy to watch. A wonderful player.

Interesting symmetry. 321 games for us in league and 32 goals. One exactly every ten games.
