From 15th to 20th in one defeat

A tight league, but I fear how we ship goals for fun at the moment? We gave two easy ones away again today. I wonder what the hell PD does with them in training sometimes.

It's that type of league at the moment. Wide open.

Be very interesting to hear from was has been today.where is our weakness, how can we resolve the problem.would hope pd can see what the fans can. According to the radio sheff commentary we were never in the game and our defence looked very suspect.ok we are entitled to off days but we have shipped some goals.

Small consolation living in Manchester that it only took 20 minutes to get home...

Piss poor.  Conceded from a set peice again, no presence up front until a half fit Brown came on.  Cotterill and Robinson were pretty dreadful throughout, with Duffy and Macheda not far behind. Their wingers went past Quinn and Stevens far too easily.  On the plus side Wellens and Turnbull did well and it showed how much we missed Brown when he came on and gave us some bite up front. We took more than I expected too.  Apart from that it was a pretty poor day.

I think our issues today were (from someone who went)

1) we were poor defensively
2) didn't look like scoring (apart from hitting the post early on)

I guess that doesn't leave much else

Feel for those who made the journey, over 1000 apparently.. The match stats look pretty conclusive to be honest. Looks like a very bad day at the office.

We just kept giving the ball away in daft areas. Too many short passes going astray.

SM is correct. Believe it or not, first half there was nothing between the teams. We gave them two goals by giving the ball away in our own half.
Second half they were all over us, (especially down our left where Eagles and the Chinese guy were rampant) and but for Turnbull and to a lesser extent Khumalo, we'd have taken a right hammering.

Fair enough Tommy. Dikov says we were better in the second half than the first?

Agree with above, poor passing and decision making in our own half especially let us down.
Offered nothing going forward other than the unlucky one hitting inside the post.
I wasn't at Birmingham but today was very similar to Barnsley and Charlton, maybe I ought to stay away from away games.

Weird thing is, I didn't think the defence played particularly badly today, despite shipping three.

Strikers may as well have stayed in bed though, midfield went missing again too.

''The Egg timer tips up again'',just as you think you've cracked this league, you get ''A Kick up the Jacksy'',what worries me more than getting beat, because we will get beat here and their,it's losing heavily, these goals are making it hard with the goal difference, and it could come back to bite us,we are still not scoring consistently enough,we could do with a free transfer who could pick a goal or two up for us,busy period of games coming up,so the one's we have should all get there chance.

How many points are we going to get from the next four?,For me we'll beat Leeds,Derby,Millwall, and draw with Ipswich,i know it seems unlikely after today, but you've only got to look at Newcastle haven't beat Man utd for forty odd years, similar amount of time for Everton,we haven't beat Leeds for a few years,so we are due a result, most things have been going for them, they are due an off day,Derby have been ''Basking in McLaren's Honeymoon period'',what better than little old Donny going along, and hitting him with ''The Seven match itch'',a draw against Big Mick's side(Roy Keane will be happy he's got something!!),then finish off with a narrow win against ''Them There Southerner's from Fa..ing Millwall, luvvllyyy jubbly,i'll treat myself to some pickled Walnuts!!...Not!!

Sorry RedJ but we must have been at different games today. I felt our defence was at best ponderous, at worst downright inept. I think that McCullough did ok as a youngster still finding his feet, Khumalo got his head in the way and, at times, there were good interceptions but the fact is that, as a unit, our back four were woeful. There was a total lack of leadership and cohesion. The failure to inspire confidence in our midfield meant that Wellens played way too deep for most of the game; he was almost treading on Furman's toes they were so close, trying to protect the back four. Eagles and Lee - the Bolton wingers - will not have easier games all season.

So, we're going to get 10 points from the next 4 games Sammy?
I hope you're right mate, but were you actually asleep and dreaming when you posted that?
