Well it depends on where you want to go really.

Also, book them pretty much the day they go on sale and generally speaking that'll be the lowest price you'll find. Some journeys are a flat rate though.

Also helps if you've got a railcard of some sort if you qualify for any of them.

Thanks RedJ, never use the rail network hence my lack of knowledge, we are going to Liverpool for a few days & thought it would be a change not to drive.

To be honest I've had to get my wife down to London at short notice on quite a few occasions recently, even upgraded her to 1st for the sake of a tenner with food thrown in, Ive often had to book  the day before travel and whilst not finding £9 tickets easily been able to find £15/£20 tickets on East Coast

I've got some Donny to London KX tickets for sale if anyone is interested.  Monday 17th Feb going down, Thurs March 4th (I think) coming back.  Not doing the trip by train now.  If anyone wants either or both of them give me PM
