Leeds are a better team than us but we can get something from the game if the right team turns up like it has done against most of the top teams. If the team that turns up plays like it did against Bolton and Charlton etc we will get beat comfortably IMO.

Our away form isn't the best, but we seem to be coming together quite nicely now. On the other hand, you really seem to be Jekyll and Hyde right now and if we get you on a Hyde day, we ought to win. Still, not going to stand up and say it'll be easy, because it certainly won't be. Hope we get a win, would also settle for a point.

I'm sure I got told the other week that you can buy tickets online, so there is a chance of 2000 of their fans being in our end? Or is that not true?

I don't think you can get online tickets.  I followed the "buy now" link for this fixture from the DRFC site, but the ticket site then did not list the Leeds game...

:silly:
No there isn't more Leeds fans, would 8000 Leeds fans only from Donny turn up? No. They'd only fill the Keepmoat because of the ones from Leeds and all surrounding towns.

Good point Padge, it's absolute nonsense that we are outnumbered in our own town.
Leeds fan come from everywhere so on that basis they would have more support than Man Utd nationally and a really poor representation from their own huge city with only one club .
Yes when you gloat Weeds remember you pull support from Leeds and Wakefield areas as well as nationally.
Bearing this all in mind an average crowd of 24,630 and not even the highest in the Division is hardly astounding !! I hope they don't chant that old favourite to us "We support our local team" ....it's a joke

I've always thought that the "Bete Noire" status of Leeds fans in Donny has led to some Rovers fans totally overestimating the number of fans from Donny actually attending Elland Road.  I would say, for a bog standard Championship game, this doesn't exceed 300.  For "one off" games, such as at Blackburn Rovers t'other week, when there was a generous ticket allocation, there were, I believe, three buses and c.50 on the train, but as I say, that was a "one off".

The numbers do rise considerably for big cup games, but all clubs have their floating fans who can be relied on only once or twice a season.

I'm going for 11,813 and a 0-2 scoreline to Leeds unfortunately.
Unfortunately I'm about 2/3 weeks away from being able to attend a match because of my health but I hope that ALL the supporters at the game tomorrow enjoy themselves before , during and after the game.

Please remember this is a game however passionate you feel about your team and that there are other more important things in life. Just keep a lid on it and it will be a great day out I'm sure.

Joking about the scoreline btw time for a Rovers win 2-1 ;)

On their forum, they're moaning because they haven't been given the 6000 tickets they 'normally' do.
Also apparently half the bars in town are owned by Leeds fans, and town will be so full of Leeds fans on Saturday you won't be able to spot a single Rovers fan. .
Oh and apparently there will be 2000 plus Leeds fans in the home end.

I tire of hearing the same drivel from that rag tag outfit, year on year, season on season it's the same shite there spouting on about.

Simple, don't go on their forums then.

I can't help it, I find it morbidly fascinating looking into the lives and mindset of the lower subspecies that is leeds supporters. kind of similar to the way watching embarrassing bodies fascinates me. perhaps it's just curiosity.

Boomstick you want to write to David Attenborough about this particular problem, because he too finds it fascinating exploring ''The Lower Species'' but The BBC Pay him to do it!!

It's morbid curiosity that draws us to the darker side. It is what compels us to look whenever we pass a road accident, and drives us to watch horror films.

We pull in a few supporters from West Yorkshire though, I know of four from Wakey who are season ticket holders and another from Kellingley, they have no passion to support leeds at all and have followed Rovers for years.   :rtid:
And me, don't forget me. I'm from West Yorkshire but will be there today shouting and cheering on DRFC.  :rtid:

I've just had a sneaky peek at the Leeds forum. The consensus seems to be that it will be a tough game for them. I must admit I was surprised to read that as I thought they would be a little more confident. Interesting reading though!

Its a tough one to call for me as our form is hit and miss tbh .I will be happy with a draw but i think the team that shows the most desire will take the three points today of course i hope that team is the rovers

We can play spot the Leeds fan in the Donny end today, classic signs are, no colours, 3 or four together, all staring at their ticket and then looking at the seat numbers, if your lucky you might hear them mumbling about having a Yorkshire derby in the same week as they have a big European fixture :)
