Playing well but not getting the points, it's getting tedious now.

At least SOD was actually a very good manager for us for a while, Dickov has done f**k all.

We're playing the refs as well, a stonewall penalty denied and a second yellow for the offender 2-0 and it's game over, the ref bottled a big decision in the game!

It's when you watch a team play like we did then read a comment like Woody Sir that you know full well that some on here are NOT fans at all.

Oh dear, Mr DRFC pops up again.  :suicide: When we aren't getting results I naturally find it frustrating, especially when we're playing well. You obviously enjoy watching your team losing but playing reasonably well.

Agreed graingrover, we played well today and IMO it was better than a SOD performance. Dickov is a good manager, set us up well and adapted as best as possible. We we're going for it to the last and on average we should have got a point or three. He's the man!

Great defensive play from the youngsters too, exceptional to be fair at this level, and although we had to have them in, much better giving them the games than getting in more loanees, again, full marks to Dickov.

Both of you are far off the mark. I think today is a turning point for us this season. Just need that extra cutting edge up front, but these players do have it in them if we can't splash loads of cash we haven't got.

We played well but the same weaknesses again.  We should have scored more than one.  THey didn't have as many chances as we did, but they took them.  That's the difference.  The form right now is awful, it can't continue.

We press well and pass the ball quickly. We need to be more clinical though, get it in the box and finish teams off better, this is a reason why we need to keep hold of Syers, as he adds in them goals from midfield. Dickov is learning all the time and will be a great manager for us, he has made some silly choice but he's clearly learning from them. I do think he's a part to blame for our injuries in that how intense our training is on the players is causing more injuries.

More like having the intelligence to appreciate a good performance without getting the rub of the green.

Excellent performance by the lads if we can add that extra quality in the defence and attack and  carry on with that kind of performance we can drag ourselves out of this

I thought the main turning point today, apart from the penalty which is in the ref's hands, was when Wellens tried to lob Green instead of hitting the ball straight at goal.

I know I wouldn't be writing this if it had gone in and hindsight is 20/20, but looking at the QPR feed, it appears as though Wellens does not have the confidence to shoot.  I thought we played well in the 30 minutes I was able to watch, but I just have my doubts that Dickov and Butler have the ability to get us out of the mess.

How do you know the training is intense , do you go and watch them. How many hours a day do they train for ,and how many days a week are they in for training.

The training seems to have been upped a notch since SOD left, but recently Wellens had a moan about the hardness of the Keepmoat pitch. IMO that's still likely to be a problem, though it does seem most injuries are not directly related to ones from a hard pitch, nor from over training.

Well most of the crowd enjoyed the game.
Get the feeling there's a team forming, with the right quality additions this next few weeks we'll be fine. Dickov is a genius if we're doing this well with what he's got to work with.

Come off it. He's been here 6 months about and we all knew this season was going to be a struggle.

Get a f**king grip. You didn't expect to be up challenging for the playoffs did you?

Young Dicky is doing fine. We totally out played QPR and were unlucky not to win. Our team today put in a good shift and I was very pleased to see it.

To all the managers critics,

just wait until he can put out what he considers his first team because this team  is certainly not it, but what a performance they gave and then you can be critical.

I can't remember the last time Donny carved out so many chances (probs not since the first 10 games). For the first time in ages we created chances and many of them. I agree that we didn't put them away, but at least we are creating. We've played many a game in the last month. where we can honestly say we haven't really created anything.

All Donny need to do is get back to the form of the first 10 games, and yesterday was the first sign that we did that. It was like Wigan away

SOD once said something that really resonated with me and honestly changed my outlook on football in general.

Along the lines of...

A victory can be gained or snatched by a decision, a bobble, a mistake, things that you cannot control. So its important to control the things you can, that's why performing well on a weekly basis might not win every game but will over a season bear fruits.

That's why he has been so successful since leaving us. Maybe people have found him out, SoD is a brilliant coach, no getting away from that. What he isn't however, is a manager, the two are completely different.

Good to see and hear we played good football but results matter. New Year's Day  result shows our season scored 19 conceded 42, therefore just over 1:2.
We have had injuries yes but to continue in this league we must start scoring more and conceding less. Therefore a goal scorer at least and improvement in centre of defence.

We played well. We do leave ourselves very open at times though. That's what forces the defenders to make mistakes a lot of the time.

I don't know what the stats are but I'm guessing our goals conceeded per game was a lot lower when Jones and Khumalo were playing together?

I think a sense of perception could go a long way here.

I don't know about anyone else but I didn't expect to go to QPR and come away with anything, a loss was almost nailed on and we came so close to upsetting the odds.

Being where we are you can't expect to go to Loftus Road and get a point so to come away with the amount of points we all expected at 3 o'clock yesterday but having done so going toe-to-toe with some of the best players in this league leaves you feeling much more inspired than playing poorly and getting thrashed 6-0.
