Nothing worse than someone telling you to "f*** off and support Man City" for being concerned and upset that your club is a mess.

Idiot.

Perhaps taking notice of the content of his post would be a better use of your time.
I' m also with Swintonrover also.......... :rtid:  :scarf: :rtid:

Well I'm sick of our players showing less passion than me! I'm sick of going out on Saturday nights and having the piss ripped out of me when we get beat! I'm sick of going to work on a Monday morning after a defeat and having L**ds, Wednesday and Blades fans taking the piss. I'm sick of being more upset after losing than the players are.

Why should I show I bother when the players don't do likewise?

In a home game this season one of our subs was 'warming up' and stopped to talk to an opposing sub also warming up. The away team scored and the Rovers sub never batted an eyelid, and just continued to laugh and chat to the away player.

Now that made me think. Why should I show passion when he doesn't. Why should I be more pissed off than him?

The answer of course is that I love Donny Rovers, and he merely plays for them. In fact players don't play FOR clubs any more, they play AT clubs.

Phew! I shudder to think how upsetting your interaction with Leeds, Wednesday and Blades fans must have been throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s...

There wasn't any competitive interaction then, they were a lovely, understanding, patronising, pat on the back sympathetic type back then, until we had the f**king cheek to actually match them on the pitch, then all that shit went out of the window.

So you are distraught that we've got to the point where we are sufficiently good that dipshits give you stick?

Have you considered therapy?

I believe we are getting to the point where we were throughout the 60,70,80 and 90's.

We'll be ok this season. Have a feeling. Agree with the sentiments that social media unfortunately gives a voice to folks who really should not be trusted with sharp objects.

But opinions are like arseholes aren't they?

This "I want it now" brigade make me laugh. Bunch of Verucca Salts.

And therein lies one of the major problems with football today.

EXACTLY nnk you have identified the problem and that has come with the ''greed'' that most footballers have.
Even at £200,000+ a week they lack commitment !!

You have to remember though, to them it's just a job. Most of them are not exactly blessed with brains and all this kissing the badge b*llocks...........well it is just that isn't it.

It’s the self righteous brothers on this forum that annoy ordinary fans even more by adding insult to injury.  Rather than it nipping the moaning in the bud, it just adds fuel to the fire and prolongs the negative moods of the ordinary fan.

What makes the ‘super fans’ among us feel the need to be condescending towards ordinary fans who have lost that loving feeling for their team?

There's a few myths on this thread!

Casper - we may have a long history but the average of our league position taken through that history is one place above what is currently the League 1 relegation zone. I agree the potential for support is there, but people are lazy, possibly more so in Donny that many places.

Other fans do moan, but as most people who have lived away from Donny will know, generally the Donny populace are a dour bunch. They do like to air their gripes and on the other hand very strongly don't like to express praise "least tha gets above thi station!"

Exactly this! People can moan through their back teeth about the negativity from some supporters but the most depressing element of this forum isnt peoples ill feelings about the club its the broken, condescending way in which some of the regulars respond.

When they run out of an argument or dont give the elders the obligatory round of applause everytime they post you get accused of being 'boring', 'uneducated', a 'wind up' or worse - a bloody disrespectful youth who lacks the obvious wordliness these experienced forum pro's possess!

They should alter the minimum registration age of members of the forum to 40.

I bet there'd still be just as much drivel posted.

Someone once so very fittingly described them as forum statesmen!

What's worse than the uneducated, repetitive WUMs is those forum users who clearly do have a modicum of intelligence but choose to use it (and seem to revel in it) for anything and everything that is divisive, negative or unfounded.

I'm sure if someone had the time to plot the activity of these type of posters onto a chart, they would more than likely find that they hardly ever post when things are going OK but jump out of the woodwork when it isn't.

I agree, I dont really come on to excercise a bit of group masturbation and high fives, thats what real life friends and a night in Club 69s for  ;)

But seriously we're Yorkshire folk, doesnt moaning come natural to us?

Im not looking for friends, I just see this forum as a soapbox for general fans concerns!

My point was that we are a town capable of bringing in attendances and having people interested. We are no small time conference club having a laugh. We have a proud history and shouldn't play ourselves down as lucky being where we are now.

We deserve to be at this level and belong there.

Give over Casper! For 35 of the last 50 years we, along with Rochdale, Hartlepool and Crewe have been the laughing stocks of the entire Football League. We ''deserve' nowt. Neither our performances over the decades nor our attendances entitle us to anything at all.

BobG

My comments are being taken the wrong way.

1.We are a huge town, almost a city.

2.There is a large population within it.

3.We have a proud footballing history.

4.Our club is one of the oldest in the country.

All that adds up to us being able to hold our own at this level and not be a surprise to anyone when doing so. We aren't a pub team having a laugh and if there has been less fortunate times in our past it isn't 'where we came from' but more like 'where we ended up for a while through a sketchy period'.

Caspar, by those criteria, the top London clubs in the PL should be Fulham and Orient.

Idiot.

No, there's nothing worse than people writing shit like this just because a poster who's obviously already upset gets fed up by people exactly like you proving his point.

Far bigger f***ing idiot.
