Principles
« on January 15, 2014, 07:56:29 pm by Bentley Bullet »
Imagine the scenario. Rovers shock us all by signing a top striker in the twelfth hour of the transfer window. The fans that have stood by the owners and not complained about the lack of signings previously mock and ridicule those who did.   They dismiss any possibility that those who did apply pressure to invest in more signings had any influence in the owners doing so. Instead, they remain the good, loyal fans whose principals haven’t changed, and the moaners should be ashamed of themselves.

My question is, if this did actually happen,  would it be the case that it’s not the moaners who would have to change their principles,  but those who accepted, and even agreed with the lack of team investment that would be left with their tails between their legs? How many of them would go against the owners for being too careless with the clubs finances?

I think you will find that moaners are moaners whatever the place whatever the circumstance.

So is it a case of the non-moaners reaping the benefits that the moaners have got for them?

I don't think for one minute that the fans moaning will change the money available. We have a manager whose job it is to find the players needed to stay up, he was employed on the basis that he had the contacts to do so. As for being steadfast etc. I'm just supporting the club and there will be no told you so or being left with tail between my legs whatever the outcome. To be perfectly honest I'm sick of the baiting and one up manship and just want to get back to being a supporter.

People who moan make no difference whatsoever anyway BB. If the money is there it will be spent, if it isn't it won't be. And, if by some miracle we did manage to make a "top" signing at any stage in the window, it would have nothing to do with a few mardy fans who think because they whined on a football forum that DW and TB thought they had better get their hands in their pockets.

So, anyone with a different point of view is a moaner, eh?   Dickov has had a lot longer than most managers to get results and has achieved very little. That is a point of view, it is not a moan. It will be a moan if things are left as they are and we are in the position of not enough games left to save us from relegation.

I do think, as do others, that the one thing this season has done is to divide the small number of fans we have into two distinct factions who, whatever happens will never be 100% satisfied. It is putting friend against friend and from the good news of promotion , we have disintegrated into a complete rabble.

Right, I am a principled man, and as such will conceed when necessary.  If, as is being reported, the deal is done for Tamas and we sign Proshwitz then I will be happy. I will be even happier if we then sign another striker to add competition up front.

I will then cease my criticism of TB and PD, in the hope that we will get sufficient points to enable us to be safe.  Obviously, if we don't with the squad we would have, I would have to reconsider that position, provided we stay clear of major injuries.

I am prepared to change my view as I hope others do in an attempt to get unity back to the club. I have done so at the request of Bentley Bullet, who sent me a very good PM. Thanks Bentley.

I just hope now, if it all comes to fruition, that we all get behind the one cause.
