Blame the players
« on March 02, 2014, 09:29:11 pm by Red Rover »
I cant get my head round all the stick Dickov is getting. Obviously things arent going perfect for us at the minute, but surely isn't it the players who aren't grafting enough? Cotterill, a Welsh international has been b*llocks this year. Wellens, I love and am pleased he's back, but his form has took a downwards turn, Furman has never got going, I could go on and on. I know the phrase is the book stops with the manager but the players aren't fulfilling their potential, end of. You look at Yeovil, Wednesday, Bournemouth...they havent got much better squads than us, but are working hard, and that creates points on the board.

Stick with Dickov and I'm sure we'll be fine...

Say it all the time, how good was Cotts last year? played about two decent games yet he was top of the assist board. You get an end product from Cotts no matter how bad he plays something Duffy/Copps can't do. Unsure but i bet Cotts has a similar assist tally to Duffy and Copps this year and he's played a lot less games.

Manager takes responsibility for players performance's, you'd have a point if it was one or two players who weren't performing but it's basically a whole team, that's no coincidence.

The difference between us and the three teams mentioned they have tactically aware managers. When PD as decided to play Furman in a three with Keegan and Wellens he as been taken off at half time. It does not work.
The manager decides the tactics of the team, we have not been solid all season in our formations. We have shown we can attack teams, but we must work hard to close down. We continue to play 442 in a majority of times as we did in the second half yesterday and we conceded another three goals.
We have needed another centre midfield player all season, DeVal does not appear to be up to the job, he is never selected to start and does not even get off the bench. We have needed an athletic, strong and to have pace player. But PD looks like he is satisfied with the players he as. We have not had Forrester all season yet we have not brought in a player on loan who could play his position.  Yet it was said at the start of the season we wanted to play with three players behind a lone striker.
So we can blame the players when we do not get the results on the pitch, but these players are having in to work at 100% in every game just to stand still.
The managers tactics sets out how the team should perform, he should instigate changes if he had the right personnel to change things.
He blames the players when we have results like this when will he veer accept he is getting wrong, he is relying on Billy to get us out of a hole. Yet we all know the best from Billy is when he as played up front on his own, not in a two. But we do not have the players to play behind him in a three or four and one.
So we will still stick with PD but he must look at the squad we have and between him and the board bring in better loan players to assist our cause. Hard work helps but pace and technical ability is why we lost yesterday, we did not have either.
