Don't know many people that would ask him to come back

If he wanted to I wouldn't say no but I would not beg him back

It's been a lot better recently since he spat his dummy out. No press releases blaming referees for everything and sayin they are all useless. What ever you think of Terry Bramhall, I think he realises that a chairmans job is not to be seen or heard, just to support the manager and playing staff.

For all the good JR did, the way he conducted himself in the media left a lot to be desired and seemed to be just to raise his own profile.

15 points? I think we've lost one or two on dodgy decisions, but not 15.

Fans of Barnsley, Millwall, Blackpool etc could probably make a similar case.

He's a high profile fan, no problem with what he says.  He clearly still loves the club despite the goings on this season, and good on him for that.

And so should we.

On the subject of refereeing, Ryan added: “We’ve had some terrible luck with the officiating and I firmly believe if we go down, it’ll be relegation by refereeing.

“This is the worst season it’s been in terms of getting bad decisions. By my calculations, referees have cost us 15 points.”

He's not serious, is he? If he is, then by his calculations how many points have been lost by our strikers missing sitters, by our defenders making mistakes in the box leading to the opposition scoring? Answers on not more than 2 sheets of A4 paper, please! Just why is it that players, managers, fans and now ex-chairman cannot accept that referees are humans, not machines, and, like players, are prone, yes and even entitled, to make mistakes.

Quite true wilts, but we seem to have had too many bad decisions - or perhaps it just feels like it?

I agree entirely with John Ryan's sentiments. Of course points have been lost by strikers missing sitters and defenders making mistakes- just like ALL teams. Of course referees are human and prone to mistakes, but mistakes are random, not one sided. If you are selective with mistakes, then you are cheating!

What evidence do we have that Rovers suffer more in this respect than any other club in this league then? Cos I'm not aware of any such evidence at all.

I'd walk over broken glass to tell him to come back.

We need our top team running the club and he remains our star striker.

I can only base my evidence on Rovers matches where our opponents are favoured by the officials. Seeing as we have been treated unfairly in just about every game in five years of Championship football suggests to me that we would be top of the list of unfavoured clubs, if there was one.

You can find this evidence yourself by watching DVD's of past games, if you weren't actually there in the first place.

I agree we look like, from our point of view, to be a serial victim.  But our emotions are involved. That means our impressions are no evidence whatsoever. Before we can be serious about this, sadly we need some comparative information. :(

The club can't be fined anymore  for what he says about officials .. it's one of the few utterances over the last year that may have some truth and psycholgical impact .

I just hope the FL or FA don't see that and issue the "f**k 'em over" order today.
