As household budgets continue to become increasingly squeezed, Doncaster Council will be working to help you to keep the cost of living down with a range of schemes to ensure you are on the best possible gas and electricity tariffs for you.

The Big Power Switch is here to help put you in control of their energy bills.

The idea is simple - the more households who join the scheme, then the more bargaining power the scheme has to drive down the cost of energy.

Home owners, private tenants and council tenants living in and around Doncaster are all eligible for the scheme (though private tenants should check that their tenancy agreement doesn’t restrict them from switching suppliers). Households don’t have to be within Doncaster to take advantage of the scheme, so be sure to tell your friends and family living in other areas that they can also enjoy the potential savings.

Households who registered for the scheme when it ran earlier in the year saved on average £209.

Matthew Fletcher from Stainforth, who saved £525 through The Big Power Switch said "I'm delighted to be saving money thanks to the council's scheme. The extra money will certainly come in handy for me.”

Don't miss out - register your interest by Tuesday 10th June using the online registration form, all the information you will need to register should be on your last energy bill.

Registration is completely free and there is no obligation. Households who have registered will be told exactly how much they could save on their bills from the 20th June and will have until 21st July to decide if they want to make the switch.

has anyone on here or know anyone that has tried this?
