I Thought Leeds were a joke, this is not how i want our club to get bigger and better, sorry we have had it,we will be seeing Forest Green Rovers etc very soon
We got relegated i can accept that,i can accept that players will have to be sacrificed,i can't believe nobody is worried about this, because i am.

Just leave us out of this will you? Once again, LUFC were pulling clear in the Yorkshire Ridicule Stakes but TLO Donny Rovers just have to rob us of our moment in the spotlight.

As someone who is neutral on the issue reading from afar, surely the Business Plan involves something more substantial than pushing a begging bowl into the adoring faces of LT fans? And I don't believe that this strategy will circumvent the FFP rules, and if it does, the loophole will be closed pretty quickly.  Otherwise, all clubs will be creating similar financial vehicles.

Why don't Donny and Leeds merge? The combined output of JR, our mad Italian and all would provide Terry Pratchett with enough raw material for a whole series of new novels, thus effectively creating a substantial and sustainable revenue stream?

Just a thought.

I can understand a degree of scepticism- and to a large extent I share it. There is so little detail about the deal that one wonders if it will succeed. However, I am genuinely puzzled as to why several people on here are talking about giving up going to games. I think we all have to take a deep breath and allow a little time to see how things pan out. It is not like we've been taken over by a faceless "investment vehicle" or by some chancer with a murky past. At least not yet, anyway.

As I said on another thread, I'll judge the success of the takeover by the quality of the players we bring in. I'm not expecting Messi and Ronaldo, but I do hope to see some battle-hardened types who know how to get out of League One. The sort we signed two years ago, like Jones, Paynter and Cotterill. If we end up signing a load of 19-year old Premier League cast-offs or blokes who can't get into a League One or Two side then I will begin to think the takeover is all hat and no rabbit.

You mean like 19 year old premier league club cast off who is now a full international since coming to us and will no doubt become one of our best players in league 1?

I've no problem with signing one or two players like that, although it has taken the best part of a season for McCullough to be first-team ready. Bear in mind we already have a few "for the future" of our own- the likes of Wakefield, Middleton and Peterson. We won't get far with a whole team of youngsters.
