« on July 30, 2014, 05:01:49 pm by Dare to dream! »
I'm told James Copps and 2 others to sign 2 morrow.

Andy Goddings

Evina, Main, Copps + 2 more the squad is starting to look a lot better now

As i've stated in a previous thread the other week, I sincerely believe James could be a future DRFC Manager. Hope he's doing his badges as Player/Coach could be next...then the hot seat further down the road.

Can't be Wellens - he is still our player so can't 'sign'. He might say he is no longer looking to leave, but he can't be a new signing.

My guess is  Copps, Keegan and either Wakefield or a Keeper

Copps, Keegan and that GK mentioned in the rumour mill? Maybe!

Wakefield will probably be on the back burner until we get our main targets in

Unless its to sign a revised contract, say something with terms a little better than previously agreed?

What,  and ruin the tension? That wouldn't be half as much fun,  would it!

Jonathan Buchan ‏@jonathanbuchan 35s

I'm told it's unlikely any more #DRFC signings today but hopeful of a goalkeeper arriving tomorrow

Liam Hoden must have said tomorrow will be a busy day every night this week and it's still not going to happen haha

Hopefully soon, still think we're a bit short in some areas ie goalkeeper and right back (still want another striker too).  But we're getting there and I'm happy with the signings so far.

Does anyone know if Wellens/Quinn are selectable for Yeovil or not in until after August passes?

Two year contract for a 33 year old with two relegations on his record from the last three seasons? Bloody rubbish.  :suicide:

Something else to note, all the signings and re-signings so far apart from Main are players who were already here for pre-season, including Jones who is like a new signing too.  OK this will be different for a GK, but things look a lot better now than a couple of weeks ago.  As far as I see it, Quinn and Wellens are still our players too.

Maybe I'm completely wrong here, but I'm sure I remember a thread on here (maybe last season, or the season before) that stated Copps wanted to emigrate to Australia after his retirement from football here in the UK.
His wife (it was stated) also wanted to continue her career in nursing in Australia as well.

Not heard anything more along those lines, but you never know, would be a new way of life for the Coppingers. Whatever James decides after his retirement, he will always get my good wishes.

Obviously, I hope he stays, and contributes in some way to help our club improve and succeed.

Jewel is still waiting on the platform at Ipswich Station for him, he's in for a shock when he gets back to the office and finds he's been sacked! :)
